Prince Charming Regal Carousel
Prince Charming Regal Carousel (formerly Cinderella's Golden Carousel) is a carousel in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Similar attractions under varying names can be found at two other Disney Parks, including Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland. It plays organ-based versions of Disney music during the two-minute ride period. Hand-painted scenes from ''Cinderella'' can be seen on the top; hence the name "Prince Charming". Magic Kingdom version The carousel was originally built by The Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1917. It was originally known as "The Liberty Carousel", (PTC #46) and delivered to Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Michigan. Liberty originally had a 60-foot platform, 72 wooden horses, four chariots and sleighs, and seated 99 passengers, five abreast. Fantasyland
Fantasyland is one of the "themed lands" at all of the Magic Kingdom-style parks run by The Walt Disney Company around the world. It is themed after Disney's animated fairy tale films. Each Fantasyland has a castle, as well as several gentle rides themed after those Disney films. Disneyland History and environs Fantasyland is one of the original themed lands at Disneyland. Arrow Development
Arrow Development was an amusement park ride and roller coaster design and manufacturing company, incorporated in California on November 16, 1945, and based in Mountain View. It was founded by Angus "Andy" Anderson, Karl Bacon, William Hardiman and Edgar Morgan. Originally located at 243 Moffett Boulevard, it moved to a larger facility at 1555 Plymouth Street after Walt Disney Productions purchased one third of the business in 1960. Arrow also had offices at 820 Huff Avenue. By 1956, then secretary Bill Hardiman and Angus Anderson, then vice president,R. L. Randy Souders
Randy Souders is an American artist and a disability rights advocate. Early life and influences Souders was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Hoping to become an illustrator he attended Trimble Technical High School in Fort Worth where he received daily instruction in commercial art. At age 14, his parents also enrolled him in a home study correspondence course offered by Art Instruction Schools which was founded in 1914 and well known for its "Draw Me" art introductory tests. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. On August 5, 1972, three months before his 18th birthday, Souders dove into a local lake and hit a submerged object. Le Carrousel de Lancelot is a traditional family carousel attraction in Disneyland Park (Paris)'s Fantasyland area. The ride features organ music from various Disney films. Summary The ride features organ music renditions of famous songs from films including: Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin, and other Disney movies. The ride's seating includes traditional carrousel horse-shaped seats and two-person bench carriage seats. It includes the 16 horses on an outer ring of the carrousel, with them sculpted wearing intricately detailed armor, and 70 horses in the inner rings of the ride, positioned in order of the colors of the rainbow.
