Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. Prince Albert Carlton
Prince Albert Carlton is a provincial electoral district (a " riding") for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. The riding was last contested in the 2020 general election, when it returned Saskatchewan Party MLA Joe Hargrave. One of two provincial constituencies for the city of Prince Albert, the other being Prince Albert Northcote, the riding's northern boundary follows 15th Street ( Hwy. 302) from east to west; then curves south along 9th/10th Avenue West to 28th Street, which the boundary follows westward until the city limits. The riding was created in 1991 out of Prince Albert and Prince Albert-Duck Lake. History Since being created, the riding has returned members of the New Democratic and Saskatchewan Parties. Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
Prince Albert is the third-largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada, after Saskatoon and Regina. It is situated near the centre of the province on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. The city is known as the "Gateway to the North" because it is the last major centre along the route to the resources of northern Saskatchewan. Prince Albert National Park is located north of the city and contains a wealth of lakes, forest, and wildlife. The city itself is located in a transition zone between the aspen parkland and boreal forest biomes. The 21st Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan was elected in the Saskatchewan general election held in October 1986. The assembly sat from December 3, 1986, to September 2, 1991. The Progressive Conservative Party led by Grant Devine formed the government. The New Democratic Party (NDP) led by Allan Blakeney formed the official opposition. Peter Myron Kowalsky (July 11, 1941 – June 8, 2022) was a Canadian politician, teacher, and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. Biography Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan in 1941, he attended high school in North Battleford and Saskatoon. He obtained a B.A., B. Ed. with Distinction, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Curriculum Studies from the University of Saskatchewan. Kowalsky began his teaching career in 1961.
