Primo Riccitelli
Primo Riccitelli (9 August 1875 – 27 March 1941), was an Italian composer. One of six children, he was born in the village of Cognoli, Campli in the Abruzzo region of Italy. His father, Giuseppe, was a small landowner and his mother, Maria Maiaroli, a homemaker. The one-day-old infant was baptized at the local parish hall of Molviano with the first name Pancrazio. He would later perform under the stage name, Primo Riccitelli. Primo Riccitelli began his studies in the town of Teramo and then transferred to the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro where he soon became the protégé of Pietro Mascagni. He is perhaps best remembered for two operas, ''I Compagnacci'' and '' Madonna Oretta''. Lesser known compositions include ''Madonnetta'', ''Francesca da Rimini'', ''Lory'', ''Nena''; ''Heremos'', ''Suora Maddalena'' and ''Maria sul Monte''. Campli
Campli ( Abruzzese: ') is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Teramo, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. It is located in the natural park known as the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. Geography The towns of Bellante, Civitella del Tronto, Sant'Omero, Teramo, Torricella Sicura, Valle Castellana are nearby. History During the 14th century, the composer Nicolaus Ricii de Nucella Campli was born presumably in or near the town. The town was captured by the French under François de Guise in 1557 during his failed campaign against the Spanish in the Kingdom of Naples. Festivals and events Every year since 1964 in the month of August, there is a celebration that goes by the name of ''Sagra della porchetta italica'' (Feast of Italian Pork). Banca Tercas, formerly known as Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Teramo was an Italian savings bank based in Teramo, Abruzzo. On 1 January 2011 the bank purchased fellow savings bank Banca Caripe from Banco Popolare. The enlarged banking group was also referred as Tercas Caripe. However, Tercas was acquired by Banca Popolare di Bari (BP Bari) in 2014, which in turn Tercas and Caripe became part of the BP Bari Group as divisions.
