"Twelve Angry Men" is a 1954 teleplay by Reginald Rose for the '' Studio One'' anthology American television series. Initially staged as a CBS live production on September 20, 1954, the drama was later rewritten for a feature film, ''12 Angry Men'' (1957) and the stage in 1964 under the same title. The episode garnered three Emmy Awards for writer Rose, director Franklin Schaffner and Robert Cummings as Best Actor. 9th Primetime Emmy Awards
The 9th Emmy Awards, later referred to as the 9th Primetime Emmy Awards, were held on March 16, 1957, to honor the best in television of the year. The ceremony was held at the NBC Studios in Burbank, California. Desi Arnaz hosted the event. All nominations are listed, with winners in bold and series' networks are in parentheses. Categories were sorted based on running time, instead of by genre. The top shows of the night were '' Caesar's Hour'' and ''Playhouse 90''. Each show won a then-record five major awards, (however, two of Playhouse 90's wins came in now defunct categories). ''Wide Wide World'' is a 1955–1958 90-minute documentary series telecast live on NBC on Sunday afternoons at 4pm Eastern. Conceived by network head Pat Weaver and hosted by Dave Garroway, ''Wide Wide World'' was introduced on the ''Producers' Showcase'' series on June 27, 1955. ''Peter Pan'' is a musical based on J. M. Barrie's 1904 play ''Peter Pan'' and his 1911 novelization of it, ''Peter and Wendy''. The music is mostly by Moose Charlap, with additional music by Jule Styne, and most of the lyrics were written by Carolyn Leigh, with additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green.
