Priit Pius (born 4 February 1989) is an Estonian stage, television, and film actor whose career began in the 2010s. Early life and education Priit Pius was born in Tallinn to Jüri and Nelli Pius (''née'' Paap). His twin brother is actor Märt Pius. He has one older brother, as well as two half-siblings from his father's previous marriage. He grew up in and attended schools in Tallinn before the family moved to the small village of Mällikvere in Jõgeva County, where he graduated from secondary school in 2008. Afterward, both he and his twin brother Märt enrolled in the Performing Arts Department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre to study acting, graduating in 2012. Priit Kasesalu (born 10 April 1972) is an Estonian programmer and software developer best known for his participation in the development of Kazaa, Skype and, most recently, Joost. He currently works for Ambient Sound Investments and lives in Tallinn, Estonia. Biography He started off as programmer for a local hardware manufacturer in 1986 with his class-mate Jaan Tallinn. The company was assembling 8-bit computers for use in public schools. In 1992 he studied computer science at Tallinn Technical University. On the 7 June 1993, he and Jaan officially registered BlueMoon as a privately held Estonian software company. Priit Juho Vesilind (born 4 January 1943) is an Estonian and American senior writer and photojournalist of '' National Geographic'' magazine and an author of nonfiction. Early life and education Vesilind was born in Tallinn. In 1944, when he was one and a half, his mother Aino took him and his brother Aarne and fled to Czechoslovakia. The family was fleeing the Soviet occupation of his homeland during World War II. Later, his father Paul Eduard Vesilind rejoined his wife and children and they spent the next five years after the war in displaced persons camps in Geislingen, West Germany. In 1949 the family emigrated to the United States of America. He spent his childhood in Beaver, a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Priit Pullerits (born July 30, 1965) is an Estonian journalist. He graduated from the University of Tartu and is now a lecturer for the university. He is also employed by the Estonian newspaper ''Postimees''. Biography Priit Pullerits is the son of cultural historian Heivi Pullerits and chemist Rein Pullerits, his brother is medical scientist Teet Pullerits. He graduated from the University of Tartu in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and successfully defended a master's degree in 1995. In 1991 he started lecturing at the University of Tartu in communications and information studies. Priit Pärn
Priit Pärn (born 26 August 1946 in Tallinn) is an Estonian cartoonist and animation director whose films have enjoyed success among critics as well as the public at various film festivals. Pärn formerly worked as a plant ecologist; his career in animation began when he accepted Rein Raamat's proposal to make a design for ''Kilplased'' (1974). After a brief apprenticeship in Joonisfilm, he directed his first film ''Is the Earth Round?'' in 1977. Pärn's most important films are considered to be ''Triangle'' (1982), ''Breakfast on the Grass'' (1987), ''Hotel E'' (1992), ''1895'' (co-directed by Janno Põldma, 1995) and ''Night of the Carrots'' (1998). Pärn's style is characterized by black humour, playful surrealism and a unique graphic style. Priit Tomson
Priit Tomson (November 3, 1942, Tallinn, 193 cm) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player, who competed for the Soviet Union. He is the only Estonian basketball player who has won two gold medals at the World Championship. Tomson is a three-time Eurobasket champion with the Soviet Union national basketball team. He was a member of the youth and student teams of the Soviet Union in 1963–65 and the senior team in 1966–74 as a small forward. The highest-scoring player in the Estonian National Team throughout his long career.He was described as a basketball aristocrat, who was characterised by skilful operating in picking up offensive rebounds and accurate throwing from central positions and was often tasked with neutralising the opponents’ most dangerous players. Priit Aimla
Priit Aimla (born 19 April 1941 in Võru) is an Estonian writer, poet, humorist and politician known for several stage plays and books. During 1992 to 1995, he belonged to Riigikogu, having been elected as a member of the Independent Royalist Party of Estonia; later, he switched to Reformierakond. In October 1980, Aimla was a signatory of the Letter of 40 Intellectuals, a public letter in which forty prominent Estonian intellectuals defended the Estonian language and protested the Russification policies of the Kremlin in Estonia. The signatories also expressed their unease against Republic-level government in harshly dealing with youth protests in Tallinn that were sparked a week earlier due to the banning of a public performance of the punk rock band Propeller. Priit Herodes (born 14 January 1948) is an Estonian heraldist. From 2000 to 2006, Herodes was the chairman of the Estonian Heritage Society and is currently a member of their board. He has designed numerous hues and flags, including the emblems of many Estonian municipalities and state institutions. For example, he has designed the official post of the mayor of Tallinn, Tallinn Town Hall Square, the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, the Symbolism of the Public Service Academy and the Narva Aleksandri Congregation. Priit Pikamäe (born 22 November 1973) is an Estonian lawyer who has been the President of the Supreme Court of Estonia in 2013-2019 and now serves as an Advocate-General of the European Court of Justice. Early life and education Priit Pikamäe was born on 22 November 1973 in the Estonian capital of Tallinn where he finished elementary and high school. He graduated law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu, after studying in the faculties of law of the French universities of Poitiers and Paris I.
