Pride House
Pride House is a dedicated temporary location which plays host to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) athletes, volunteers and visitors attending the Olympics, Paralympics or other international sporting event in the host city. The first was organized for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Qmunity (officially Qmunity, BC's Queer, Trans, and Two-Spirit Resource Centre Society), formerly known as the Centre, is an LGBT community centre located on Bute Street in the Davie Village neighbourhood of the West End of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Activities and initiatives Qmunity houses or operates a number of programs and initiatives, including the Vancouver Pride House during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games; the Transgender Health Program, a program operated in cooperation with the Vancouver Coastal Health regional health authority and which moved to Qmunity after Vancouver General Hospital's Gender Clinic closed in 2002. Political Satirist
Political satire is satire that specializes in gaining entertainment from politics; it has also been used with subversive intent where Political discourse analysis, political speech and dissent are forbidden by a regime, as a method of advancing political arguments where such arguments are expressly forbidden. Blake Skjellerup
Blake Skjellerup (born 13 June 1985 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a short track speed skater who competed for New Zealand at the 2010 Winter Olympics; finishing sixteenth. Sporting career Skjellerup began speed skating at the age of 10 in Christchurch after an injury from roller blading forced him to stop playing rugby union for a season. His brother introduced him to speed skating to keep him active. Blake quickly took to the sport and began spending as much time as he could in skates. In short track Blake had found not only has passion but something that he was good at. In his career he has won five New Zealand national titles and broken numerous national records throughout his career. Skjellerup currently holds 3 New Zealand individual records in the 500, 1000, 1500 meter event, and 1 record in the 5000m men's relay. Suran Dickson
Suran Dickson (born 1977) is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the British charity Diversity Role Models, which works to reduce homophobic bullying in schools. She founded the charity in 2011. Peter Tatchell
Peter Gary Tatchell (born 25 January 1952) is a British human rights campaigner, originally from Australia, best known for his work with LGBT social movements. Tatchell was selected as the Labour Party's parliamentary candidate for Bermondsey in 1981. He was then denounced by party leader Michael Foot for ostensibly supporting extra-Parliamentary action against the Thatcher government. Labour subsequently allowed him to stand in the 1983 Bermondsey by-election in February 1983, in which the party lost the seat to the Liberals. In the 1990s he campaigned for LGBT rights through the direct action group OutRage!, which he co-founded. Claire Harvey
Claire Harvey (born ) is a British Paralympic sportsperson. She began as a sitting volleyball player, before switching to track and field athletics where she competes in F55 classification throwing events. Sitting volleyball career Harvey was part of the Great Britain women's national sitting volleyball team and is now a track and field athlete for Great Britain. She competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics where the team finished last. On club level she played for London Lynx in 2012. John Uzoma Ekwugha Amaechi , Order of the British Empire, OBE (; born 26 November 1970) is a British-American psychologist, consultant and former professional basketball player. Daniel Keenan Savage (born October 7, 1964) is an American author, media pundit, journalist, and LGBT community activist. He writes ''Savage Love'', an internationally syndicated relationship and sex advice column.
