''The Press-Enterprise'' is a paid daily newspaper published by Digital First Media that serves the Inland Empire in Southern California. Headquartered in downtown Riverside, California, it is the primary newspaper for Riverside County, with heavy penetration into neighboring San Bernardino County. The geographic circulation area of the newspaper spans from the border of Orange County to the west, east to the Coachella Valley, north to the San Bernardino Mountains, and south to the San Diego County line. ''The Press-Enterprise'' is a member of the Southern California News Group. The newspaper traces its roots to ''The Press'', which began publishing in 1878, and ''The Daily Enterprise'', which started publishing in 1885. The ''Guernsey Press and Star'', more commonly known as the ''Guernsey Press'' is the only daily newspaper published in Guernsey. History The ''Guernsey Evening Press'' was first published in 1897. In 1951 it purchased the struggling ''Guernsey Star'' (first published in 1813), renaming itself ''Guernsey Evening Press and Star''. The paper was published by The Guernsey Press Company until 1999 when the company merged with Guiton, publishers of the ''Jersey Evening Post''. In 2004 Guiton came under the ownership of the Claverlely Group, which also owns the ''Wolverhampton Express and Star'' and the ''Shropshire Star''. ''The Press'' is a local, daily, paid for, newspaper, for North and East Yorkshire. It is published in the City of York by Newsquest Media Group Ltd, a subsidiary of Gannett Company Inc. The ''Yorkshire Evening Press'' was established in 1882. It changed from broadsheet to compact format in 2004 and shortly afterwards dropped "Yorkshire" from the title. Charles Emory Smith was editor and owned a stake in the paper from 1880 until his death in 1908. In 1920, it was purchased by Cyrus H. K. Curtis, who merged the ''Press'' into the '' Public Ledger''. The ''Cleveland Press'' was a daily American newspaper published in Cleveland, Ohio from November 2, 1878, through June 17, 1982. From 1928 to 1966, the paper's editor was Louis B. Seltzer.
