Francisco Javier Lambán Montañés (born 1957) is a Spanish politician member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and President of the Government of Aragon since 5 July 2015. Biography Born on 19 August 1957 in Ejea de los Caballeros, he graduated in history at the University of Barcelona. A member of the Ejea city council since 1983 (he also joined the PSOE that year), he was a member of the provincial deputation between 1991 and 2012. He was elected President of the Provincial Deputation of Saragossa on 15 July 1999. He became the Mayor of Ejea in 2007. 1991 Aragonese Regional Election
The 1991 Aragonese regional election was held on Sunday, 26 May 1991, to elect the 3rd Cortes of the autonomous community of Aragon. All 67 seats in the Cortes were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in 12 other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. The main loser in the election was the Democratic and Social Centre (CDS), which lost all of its 6 seats. The Aragonese Party (PAR) also lost two seats. The main gainers were the main two national parties, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and the newly created People's Party (PP). United Left also gained 1 seat. The new legislature elected Emilio Eiroa of the PAR as the new President of Aragon by 34 votes to 33, after Hipólito Gómez de las Roces' refusal to reach a new agreement with the PP. Emilio Eiroa
Emilio Eiroa García (23 August 1935 – 10 March 2013) was a Spanish politician and lawyer. Eiroa served as the President of the Government of Aragon from 1991 until 1993. He was also one of the founding members of the Aragonese Party. He later became the President of the Aragonese Corts from 1995 to 1999. Eiroa was born in Vegadeo, Asturias. His father was a policeman. He moved to Zaragoza, Aragon, with his family when he was fifteen years old. 1987 Aragonese Regional Election
The 1987 Aragonese regional election was held on Wednesday, 10 June 1987, to elect the 2nd Cortes of the autonomous community of Aragon. All 67 seats in the Cortes were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in 12 other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain, as well as the 1987 European Parliament election. Affected by their national trends, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and the People's Alliance (AP) lost support compared to the previous election, falling from 46.8% and 22.6% to 35.7% and 15.5%, and from 33 and 18 seats to 27 and 13, respectively.
