Presidente Perón International Airport ( es, link=no, Aeropuerto Internacional de Neuquén – Presidente Perón) is an airport in Neuquén Province, Argentina, serving the cities of Neuquén, Cipolletti, Plottier, Centenario, and General Roca. The airport is on the west side of Neuquén, a city at the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén Rivers. Overview The airport is suitable for landing large aircraft such as the Boeing 757 or the Boeing 767. It has seven hangars, an Instrument landing system, and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) system. Neuquén (; arn, Nehuenken) is the capital city of the Argentine province of Neuquén and of the Confluencia Department, located in the east of the province. Sol Líneas Aéreas Flight 5428 was a passenger flight which crashed near Los Menucos, Argentina, on 18 May 2011, killing all 22 people on board. The aircraft involved, a Saab 340, was operating Sol Líneas Aéreas' scheduled domestic service from Neuquén to Comodoro Rivadavia. The following investigation concluded that severe airframe icing had led to a loss of control from which the crew was unable to recover. The crash is the deadliest aviation accident involving a Saab 340.
