Murat Magometovich Zyazikov (russian: Мура́т Магоме́тович Зя́зиков) (born September 10, 1957) is a Russian politician who was the second president of the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia. He was born in what is now Kyrgyzstan. Zyazikov was a controversial politician in Ingushetia. Political career In the 1980s, Zyazikov was a member of the KGB and later the FSB. In the 1990s, he became part of Ingushetia's security council and on May 23, 2002, he was elected president of the republic in the controversial circumstances. 2018–2019 Ingushetia Protests
The 2018-2019 protests in Ingushetia are thousands of people, initially unauthorized round-the-clock protest in Magas against the Agreement on Securing the Border Between Regions, signed by the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on September 26, 2018, as well as its ratification by the deputies of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia.
