The National Poetry Award ( es, Premio Nacional de Poesía) is an honor presented by Colombia's Ministry of Culture. In its current format, it is given biennially, in alternating years with the . It rewards excellence in poetic production by a Colombian citizen, living in the country or abroad, for a Spanish-language work published in the preceding two years. The National Award for Literature in the Poetry Category ( es, Premio Nacional de Literatura en la Modalidad de Poesía) has been presented annually by the Ministry of Culture (Spain), Ministry of Culture of Spain since 1977. It recognizes the best work of poetry by a Spanish author, in any of the Languages of Spain, Spanish languages. Works are nominated by a jury of experts, and must be first editions published in Spain in the prior year. It includes a monetary prize of €20,000.
