The 27th Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony, presented by the American network Univision, honoring the best Latin music (genre), Latin 2014 in music, music of 2014 in the United States, took place on February 19, 2015, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida beginning at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time Zone, PST (8:00 p.m. Eastern Time Zone, EST). During the ceremony, Lo Nuestro Awards were presented in 31 categories. The ceremony was televised in the United States by Univision. FTX Arena (known as American Airlines Arena from 1999 to 2021) is a multi-purpose arena located in Miami, Florida, along Biscayne Bay. ''Norteño'' or ''Norteña'' (, ''northern''), also ''música norteña'', is a genre of Regional Mexican music. The music is most often based on duple and triple metre and its lyrics often deal with socially relevant topics, although there are also many norteño love songs. The accordion and the bajo sexto are traditional norteño's most characteristic instruments. Norteña music developed in the late 19th century, as a mixture between local Mexican music and Austrian-Czech-origin folk music.
