Preface (band)
Preface is a French musical band established in 1986 with members Manu Katché on vocals and drums, Jean-Yves D'Angelo (keyboards and vocals) and Kamil Rustam (guitars and vocals). The band was signed to Phonogram and had an extended debut single ''Palace Hotel'' on Anya record label. They followed it up with a second single ''S'il Te Plait''. The band also collaborated on the soundtrack to the film '' Black Mic Mac 2''. In 1989, third single "Un an un jour une heure" but disbanded after three years of activity, with band members pursuing solo careers. Manu Katché
Manu Katché (born 27 October 1958) is a French drummer and songwriter of Ivorian descent. He has worked extensively as a session musician, notably with Sting and Peter Gabriel, and his solo albums as a bandleader are largely in the jazz fusion style. Career Session musician Katché was born on 27 October 1958 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. He performed on several successful albums in the mid-1980s such as Peter Gabriel's 1986 album '' So'' and Sting's '' …Nothing Like the Sun'' (1987) and '' The Soul Cages'' (1990). Kamil Rustam
Kamil Rustam is an American guitarist, composer, arranger, songwriter and producer whose musical career has made known as a prolific musician in many different styles. Rustam was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and moved at an early age to Paris, France where he worked extensively for most of the top pop French artists, earning the 1985Les Victoires de la Musique for Producer of the Year with his fellow producing partners Manu Katché and Gabriel Yared. He was also nominated as Best Studio Musician at the 1986 and 1987Les Victoires de la Musique. In 1996 He moved to Los Angeles where he has been busy working in the American entertainment industry. In 2021 he joins the house band of the French Edition of ''The Voice'' The Voice (French TV series) and divide his time between the U.S. and France. Phonogram Records
Phonogram Incorporated was started in 1970 as a successor to Philips Phonographic Industries, a unit of the Grammophon-Philips Group (GPG), a joint venture of Philips N.V. of the Netherlands and Siemens A.G. of Germany. Phonogram was the name of a parent company that owned and or distributed many different record labels. Phonogram was never a record label as such, but a holding company for labels which included Philips, Fontana, Vertigo and Mercury and many other licensed labels. Black is a color which results from the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, without hue, like white and grey.
