Prattiyur
Pirattiyur is a part of the city of Tiruchirappalli and located in Tiruchirappalli West taluk, Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, India. A former Town Panchayat, which covers the whole of Edamalaipatti Pudur, it was merged with the Tiruchirappalli Corporation in 1994. The Regional Transport Office (Tiruchirappalli West) is located here. The famous Rettai Malai Temple is located nearby Pirattiyur and has a festival annually. Pirattiyur people and people from Madurai, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi also attend this festival. Tiruchirappalli () ( formerly Trichinopoly in English), also called Tiruchi or Trichy, is a major tier II city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Tiruchirappalli district. A nagar panchayat (town panchayat; ) or Notified Area Council (NAC) in India is a settlement in transition from rural to urban and therefore a form of an urban political unit comparable to a municipality. An urban centre with more than 12,000 and less than 40,000 inhabitants is classified as a nagar panchayat. Such councils are formed under the panchayati raj administrative system. The Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation is the municipal corporation which looks after the city administration of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. It consists of a legislative and an executive body. The legislative body is headed by the city mayor while the executive body is headed by a Chief Commissioner.
