Prankster (comics)
The Prankster (Oswald Hubert Loomis) is a supervillain in the DC Comics universe and primarily a foe of Superman. The Prankster's particular gimmick is the use of various practical jokes and gags in committing his crimes. Publication history The Prankster first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #51 (August 1942) and was created by Jerry Siegel and John Sikela. Fictional character biography Golden Age version The original Prankster is Oswald Loomis, a criminal and conman who uses elaborate practical jokes and publicity campaigns to commit crimes. In his debut in ''Action Comics'' #51, the Prankster and his assistants break into a series of banks and force the employees to ''accept'' money. They even throw money to people in the streets. After he becomes famous for this joke, the Prankster enters into yet another bank - and this time takes all the money, also taking Lois Lane hostage. Superman (comic Book)
''Superman'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero Superman as its main protagonist. Superman began as one of several anthology features in the National Periodical Publications comic book ''Action Comics'' #1 in June 1938. The strip proved so popular that National launched Superman into his own self-titled comic book, the first for any superhero, premiering with the cover date Summer 1939. Between 1986 and 2006 it was retitled, ''The Adventures of Superman'', while a new series used the title ''Superman''. In May 2006, it was returned to its original title and numbering. The title was canceled with issue #714 in 2011, and was relaunched with issue #1 the following month which ended its run in 2016. A fourth series was released in June 2016 and ended in April 2018, while the fifth series was launched in July 2018 and ended in June 2021. Kryptonite
Kryptonite is a fictional material that appears primarily in Superman stories published by DC Comics. In its best-known form, it is a green, crystalline material originating from Superman's home world of Krypton that emits a unique, poisonous radiation that can weaken and even kill Kryptonians. Kryptonite radiation can emit through any element except lead. Thus, Superman has a special lead suit to protect himself from the radiation. There are other varieties of Kryptonite, such as red and gold Kryptonite, which have different but still generally negative effects. Brainiac (character)
Brainiac is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #242 in July 1958. Brainiac is usually depicted as an extraterrestrials in fiction, extraterrestrial Android (robot), android or cyborg who serves as one of Superman's greatest List of Superman enemies, enemies and a major adversary of the Justice League. He is known for shrinking and stealing Kandor (comics), Kandor, the capital city of Superman's home planet Krypton (comics), Krypton, and is even responsible for Krypton's destruction in some Fictional universe, continuities.
