'' Kamera-Werkstätten Guthe & Thorsch'' (K.W.) was established 1919 in Dresden by Paul Guthe and Benno Thorsch, starting out manufacturing the ''Patent Etui'' plate camera. Ten years later came the roll film TLR ''Pilot Reflex'' and in 1936, the 6×6 SLR ''Pilot'' range. By that time, Benno Thorsch, the surviving partner from 1919, decided to immigrate to the United States and arranged with the US citizen Charles Noble to swap enterprises. Noble came to Germany and moved the factory to Niedersedlitz on the outskirts of Dresden, while Benno Thorsch in Detroit ran the acquired photo finishing business that was one of the largest in the USA.John H. Kamera-Werkstätten Guthe & Thorsch was a photographic equipment manufacturer based in Dresden. Kamera-Werkstätten Guthe & Thorsch By the beginning of the twentieth century the photographic industry prospered using new manufacturing methods, building smaller, lighter and more reliable equipment, and using better materials like aluminium and steel rather than wood, brass and leather. A lens mount is an interface – mechanical and often also electrical – between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is a feature of camera systems where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the rangefinder camera, single lens reflex type, single lens mirrorless type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Tessar
The Tessar is a photographic lens design conceived by the German physicist Paul Rudolph in 1902 while he worked at the Zeiss optical company and patented by Zeiss in Germany; the lens type is usually known as the Zeiss Tessar. A Tessar comprises four elements in three groups, one positive crown glass element at the front, one negative flint glass element at the center and a negative plano-concave flint glass element cemented with a positive convex crown glass element at the rear. Anastigmat
An anastigmat or anastigmatic lens is a photographic lens completely corrected for the three main optical aberrations: spherical aberration, coma, and astigmatism. Early lenses often included the word ''Anastigmat'' in their name to advertise this new feature (''Doppel-Anastigmat'', ''Voigtländer Anastigmat Skopar'', etc.). The first Anastigmat was designed by Paul Rudolph for the German firm Carl Zeiss AG in 1890. In photography and cinematography, a normal lens is a lens that reproduces a field of view that appears "natural" to a human observer. Contax
Contax (stylised as CONTAX in the Kyocera era) began as a German camera model in the Zeiss Ikon line in 1932, and later became a brand name. The early cameras were among the finest in the world, typically featuring high quality Zeiss interchangeable lenses. The final products under the Contax name were a line of 35 mm, medium format, and digital cameras engineered and manufactured by Japanese multinational Kyocera, and featuring modern Zeiss optics. In 2005, Kyocera announced that it would no longer produce Contax cameras. Sans-serif
In typography and lettering, a sans-serif, sans serif, gothic, or simply sans letterform is one that does not have extending features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. Sans-serif typefaces tend to have less stroke width variation than serif typefaces. They are often used to convey simplicity and modernity or minimalism. Sans-serif typefaces have become the most prevalent for display of text on computer screens. On lower-resolution digital displays, fine details like serifs may disappear or appear too large.
