Prakash N. Shah
Prakash N. Shah (born 12 September 1940) is an Indian writer, editor and journalist from Gujarat, India. He was appointed the president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad (Gujarati Literary Council) in 2020. Early life Prakash N. Shah was born to his father Naveenchandra Lalbhai and mother Induben on 12 September 1940 in Manasa, Gujarat. His father's business career led to his primary education in Amritsar and Vadodara. He completed his secondary education from Sarasvati Mandir High School, Maninagar, Ahmedabad. He received M.A. in political science. Career In 1965, Shah joined H. K. Arts College, Ahmedabad as a professor of political science. Earlier, he was involved in a creative and ideological awareness campaign of a youth organisation named 'Aarat'. He was also active in the editing work of ''Vishvamanav'' magazine and the activities of Gandhi Shanti Prasthan. Manasa
Manasa () is a Hindu goddess of snakes. She is worshipped mainly in Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand, Lower Assam and other parts of northeastern India and in Uttarakhand, chiefly for the prevention and cure of snakebite, and also for fertility and prosperity. In Hindu mythology, Manasa is the sister of the first two naga kings, Shesha and Vasuki, and the wife of Sage Jaratkaru. She is the mother of the sage Astika. She is also known as ''Vishahari'' (the destroyer of poison), ''Nityā'' (eternal) and ''Padmavati''. In the Puranas, the sage Kashyapa is considered to be her father, one legend stating that she was created from his mind, and the other stating that she is his daughter from his wife, Kadru. Maintenance Of Internal Security Act
The Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) was a controversial law passed by the Indian parliament in 1971 giving the administration of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Indian law enforcement agencies very broad powers – indefinite preventive detention of individuals, search and seizure of property without warrants, and wiretapping – in the quelling of civil and political disorder in India, as well as countering foreign-inspired sabotage, terrorism, subterfuge and threats to national security. The law was amended several times during the subsequently declared national emergency (1975–1977) and used for quelling political dissent. Finally it was repealed in 1977, when Indira Gandhi lost the 1977 Indian general election and the Janata Party came to power. Manubhai Pancholi also known by his pen name Darshak, was a Gujarati language novelist, author, educationist and politician from Gujarat, India. He participated in the Indian independence movement and held several offices after independence. Biography Manubhai Pancholi was born on 15 October 1914 at Panchashiya village in Morbi district, Gujarat, India. He completed his primary education from Tithwa Lunsar. He left study to participate in Salt Satyagraha in 1930 when he was studying at Wankaner. He was jailed in Sabarmati, Nasik and Visapur. He started his career as a rector in educational institute, Dakshinamurti at Bhavnagar in 1932 and later joined as a professor in Gramdakshinamurt, Ambala in 1938.
