Prakash Mani Tripathi
Lieutenant General Prakash Mani Tripathi (born 30 June 1935) is an Indian politician and a former member of Lok Sabha from Deoria (Lok Sabha constituency), Deoria parliamentary constituency. He was commissioned in the Indian Army in June 1955 and served in Jammu and Kashmir. He joined 63rd Cavalry (India), 63 Cavalry in February 1957; served in Nagaland as Squadron Commander between 1964 and 1965. During the Indo-Pak War, 1971, he fought in Bangladesh. He took part in Mizoram-Counter Insurgency operations in 1976; was Commander 3 (I) Armoured Brigade in 1982; Maj. General Officer Commanding, Armoured Division between 1985 and 1988; Director-General, Combat Vehicles, D.R.D.O., between 1988 and 1990; G.O.C. Deoria, Uttar Pradesh
Deoria is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of five tehsils of the Deoria district. Deoria is located 45 km east of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur and about 317 km from the state capital Lucknow. It shares its east border with Bihar. Demographics As of 2011 Indian Census, Deoria had a total population of 129,479, of which 67,462 were males and 62,017 were females. Population within the age group of 0 to 6 years was 14,779. The total number of literates in Deoria was 99,562, which constituted 76.9% of the population with male literacy of 81.1% and female literacy of 72.3%. Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) (IAST: ) is a military award of India. It was constituted in 1960 and since then it is awarded in recognition to peace-time service of the most exceptional order and may be awarded posthumously. 13th Lok Sabha
The 13th Lok Sabha (10 October 1999 – 6 February 2004) is the thirteenth session of the Lok Sabha (House of the People, or lower house in the Parliament of India). It was convened after 1999 Indian general election held during September–October 1999. This majority group in the Lok Sabha during this period was the National Democratic Alliance, a nationalist group led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which won 270 seats, 16 more than 12th Lok Sabha. General elections were held in India in 1996 Indian general election, April–May 1996 to elect the members of the 11th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was a hung parliament, which would see three Prime Ministers in two years and force the country back to the polls in 1998. Atal Bihari Vajpayee of Bharatiya Janata Party, the single largest party to win this election, winning 67 more seats than previous 10th Lok Sabha, formed the government which lasted for only 13 days. The United Front was created and got support from 332 members out of the 545 seats in the Lok Sabha, resulting in H. D. Deve Gowda from the Janata Dal being the 11th Prime Minister of India. Later I. Ati Vishisht Seva Medal
Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) is a military award of India given to recognize "distinguished service of an exceptional order" to all ranks of the armed forces. The award is a peacetime equivalent of Uttam Yuddh Seva Medal, which is a Wartime Distinguished Service decoration. The award can also be granted posthumously. Subsequent awards are represented by a bar worn on the ribbon. The awardee can use "AVSM" as post-nominal letters. The United Provinces of British India, more commonly known as the United Provinces, was a province of British India, which came into existence on 3 January 1921 as a result of the renaming of the ''United Provinces of Agra and Oudh''.
