Prakash Amritraj
Prakash Amritraj (born October 2, 1983) is an American former professional tennis player, who represented India in international tournaments. He is the son of former Indian tennis player Vijay Amritraj. Background Prakash Amritraj is the son of Indian tennis player Vijay Amritraj and Shyamala, a Sri Lankan Tamil. Prakash is the paternal cousin of fellow tour pro Stephen Amritraj, whose father Anand and paternal uncle Ashok were former professional tennis players representing India. Prakash has one brother, Vikram, who was born in 1987. He played 2 years of college tennis for the University of Southern California. Vijay Amritraj
Vijay Amritraj (born 14 December 1953) is an Indian sports commentator, actor and retired professional tennis player from Madras. He was awarded the Padma Shri, India's 4th highest civilian honour, in 1983.In 2022, he was honored for his contributions to tennis in London by the International Tennis Hall of Fame and International Tennis Federation. Early life Vijay was born in Madras, India to Maggie Dhairyam and Robert Amritraj. He has two brothers, Anand Amritraj and Ashok Amritraj, who were also international tennis players. Encino (Spanish for "oak") is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. History In 1769, the Spanish Portolá expedition, first Europeans to see inland areas of California, traveled north through Sepulveda Pass into the San Fernando Valley on August 5 and stayed two nights at a native village near what is now Los Encinos State Historic Park. The tennis competitions at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad, India were held from October 25 to October 31 at the SAAP Tennis Complex. The events were held on grass courts. The Infosys Hall of Fame Open is an international tennis tournament that has been held every year in July since 1976 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, the original location of the U.S. National Championships. Karan Rastogi (born 8 October 1986, Mumbai) is an Indian tennis player, who also represented Hong Kong in international competitions. He started playing tennis at the age of 3. He was ranked No.1 in all age groups in India from the under 12s to the under 18s. In 2000, he became the first Indian to win three events at the junior nationals winning the boys under 14 singles and doubles and the boys under 16 singles in one week at the same event. In the same year he also led the Indian under 14 team to finish as runners up in the Asia/Oceania boys under 14 World Junior Tennis event, thus qualifying for the World finals to be held in Czech Republic. Anand Amritraj
Anand Amritraj (Tamil: ஆனந்த் அம்ரித்ராஜ்; born 20 March 1951) is a former Indian tennis player and businessman. He along with brother Vijay Amritraj led India into the 1974 Davis Cup finals against South Africa and was a part of the Indian team captained by Vijay Amritraj which reached the final of the Davis Cup in 1987 against Sweden. Career Anand Amritraj and his younger brothers, Vijay and Ashok, were among the first Indians to play in top-flight international tour tennis. In 1976, Anand and Vijay were semifinalists in the Wimbledon men's doubles.
