Prague City Hall
Prague City Hall (Czech Republic, Czech: ''Magistrát hlavního města Prahy'') is the Municipality, municipal and Regional municipality, regional office of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It is formed by the Chief Executive of Prague City Hall and other employees of the City of Prague included in this body. Prague City Hall performs tasks assigned by Prague City Assembly or Prague City Council, which are democratically elected. As of 2017, it employed 2,091 people and had a budget of 65,193 billion Czech koruna, CZK (2,58 billion Euro, EUR). Employees of Prague City Hall are located mainly in two buildings within the Prague city centre – in the New City Hall (Prague), New City Hall and in the Škoda Palace. Coat Of Arms Of Prague
The coat of arms of the city of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, has a lesser and a greater version. The coat of arms was first introduced in the 15th century (when the city of Prague corresponded to what is now the Old Town (Prague), Old Town district). It consisted of three silver towers on a red shield. The coat of arms was Augmentation of honour, improved by Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick III in 1462, in recognition of the service of king George of Poděbrady, by replacing the silver tincture by gold. The full coat of arms in this period showed an imperial crown in the crest and two Bohemian lions as supporters. Škoda Palace
Škoda Palace ( cs, Škodův palác) is the current site of the Prague Town Hall. The late Art Deco building in Jungmannova Street was built in 1929 for the Škoda company using a design by the prominent architect Pavel Janák ( Adria Palace, Czernin Palace). The adjacent office building in Charvátova Street dates back to 1937. Even today, both buildings still satisfy the strictest requirements thanks to their flexible arrangement of office and common space within the buildings. The buildings are accessible through several entrances, which allows the interiors to be easily divided into independent sections. Prehistory The land where Prague came to be built has been settled since the Paleolithic Age. Several thousand years ago, trade routes connecting southern and northern Europe passed through this area, following the course of the river.
