Prafulla Chaki
Prafulla Chandra Chaki ( bn, প্রফুল্ল চাকী, ''Prafulla Chaki'' alias Dinesh Chandra Roy) (10 December 1888 – 1 May 1908) was an Indian revolutionary associated with the Jugantar group of revolutionaries who carried out assassinations against British colonial officials in an attempt to secure Indian independence. Prafulla and Khudiram Bose tried to assassinate the district judge, Mr. Douglas Kingsford, by throwing bombs at the carriage in which Kingsford was supposed to travel, but he was not in the carriage, and two British women were killed. Prafulla committed suicide when he was about to be arrested by the Police. Khudiram was arrested and tried for the murder of the two women and sentenced to death. Mahatma Gandhi denounced the violence and regretted the deaths of two women. He stated "that the Indian people will not win their freedom through these methods". Prafulla Chandra Ghosh
Prafulla Chandra Ghosh (24 December 1891 – 18 December 1983) was the first Premier of West Bengal, India from 15 August 1947 to 14 August 1948. He also served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal in the "Progressive Democratic Alliance Front" government from 2 November 1967 to 20 February 1968. Early life Prafulla Chandra Ghosh was born in a Yadav Family on 24 December 1891 at a remote village, Malikanda, in Dhaka district, British India (now Bangladesh) as son of Purna Chandra Ghosh and Binodini Devi. Prafulla Chandra Sen
Prafulla Chandra Sen (10 April 1897 – 25 September 1990) was an Indian politician and freedom fighter. He was the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1962 to 1967. Background Prafulla Chandra Sen was born in the village Senhati in the Khulna District of Bengal on 10 April 1897 in a Vaidya family. Most of his childhood was spent in Bihar, Eastern India. He started his education in Bihar and passed the entrance exam to attend the R. Mitra Institute in Deoghar. He then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Scottish Church College in Calcutta. After graduating, he joined an accounting firm and aspired to move to England in order to become an articled clerk. His ambitions changed upon hearing Mahatma Gandhi's speech at the Calcutta session of the Congress Party in 1920. Prafulla Dahanukar (1934 – 2014) was an Indian painter, a leader in modern Indian art who also helped and influenced many young artists in India. Biography Prafulla Dahanukar was born Prafulla Joshi in Bandora, Goa to Subrai Anant Joshi and Kesarbai Bandodkar, and she grew up in Mumbai. She studied Fine Art at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai and graduated with a Gold Medal in 1955. She had a studio in the seminal Bulabhai Desai Institute in Mumbai and shared it with V. S. Gaitonde, becoming part of the Progressive Artists' Group from 1956 to 1960. The Institute was filled with luminaries who transformed the art and culture scene in India. Prafulla Kumar Mahanta is an Indian Politician who was the leader of the Assam Movement, a former Chief Minister of Assam (two terms) and the former President of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), a major political party in the Indian state of Assam. He became the chief minister in the state when the AGP came to power in 1985, becoming the youngest Chief Minister of an Indian state. He served as the chief minister of the state for two terms, 1985–1990 and 1996–2001. He is a former president of the All Assam Students Union, an organization that spearheaded the Assam Movement between 1979–1985. In August 2005, his membership in the AGP was terminated. Prafulla Kumar Sen
Prafulla Kumar Sen (died 24 March 1942), also known as Swami Satyananda Puri, was an Indian revolutionary and philosopher. Puri, had in his youth taught Oriental philosophy at the University of Calcutta and later at Rabindranath Tagore's Visva-Bharati University at Santiniketan. Encouraged by Tagore, he arrived in Thailand in 1932, and in 1939, he founded the Thai-Bharat Lodge, a cultural forum. Arriving in Thailand, Puri was appointed a professor at the Chulalongkorn University, lecturing in ancient Indian and Thai languages, and is said to have mastered the Thai Language in six months and went on to translate a number of Indian philosophical works and biographies, including the Ramayana and biographies of Gandhi to Thai.
