"Powerglide" is a single by American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd. It was released on March 1, 2018 by EarDrummers and Interscope Records as the third single from their third studio album ''SR3MM'' (2018). The song is written by the artists alongside producers Mally Mall, Jean-Marie Horvat, and Mike Will Made It. The song features guest vocals from American rapper Juicy J (although he is notably cut from the radio edit). Background The song was released alongside two other singles from ''SR3MM'', Swae Lee's "Hurt to Look" and Slim Jxmmi's "Brxnks Truck", on March 1, 2018. The album is a triple-disc album featuring ''SR3MM'' and solo albums from Rae Sremmurd members Swae Lee, titled ''Swaecation'', and Slim Jxmmi, titled ''Jxmtro''. The song samples Three 6 Mafia's "Side 2 Side", featuring Mafia member Juicy J. They were able to get Juicy J involved after a run-in at a party. Rae Sremmurd ( ; "Drummers Ear" spelled backwards) is an American hip hop duo originating from Tupelo, Mississippi, formed by two brothers, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee. In 2013, they signed a record deal with Mike Will Made It's EarDrummers imprint. In January 2015, the duo released their debut album, ''SremmLife'', which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In August 2016, the duo released their second album, '' SremmLife 2''. During that same year, the duo also created their own record label, called SremmLife Crew Records. The duo is best known for their single "Black Beatles" from ''SremmLife 2'', which topped the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, while also charting internationally in the top ten in many countries. "Side 2 Side" is a song by Three 6 Mafia, which was released as the third official single from the album ''Most Known Unknown''. A music video was released for the song using a remix, and includes appearances by Project Pat and Bow Wow in addition to Three 6 Mafia's existing members (DJ Paul and Juicy J). The single was released through Columbia Records, Sony Urban Music, and Hypnotize Minds. There is also an alternate video with the main group (including Crunchy Black), set in a strip club.
