Boots Mallory
Patricia "Boots" Mallory (October 22, 1913 – December 1, 1958) was an American film actress, dancer, and model. Career Mallory grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where her father operated a tugboat. She attended Murphy High School, and was working in the Lyric Theater as an usherette when the Ziegfeld Follies came to Mobile. Ziegfeld offered her a spot in his show. She eventually travelled to New York City where she made a strong impression in the Broadway production of the '' Ziegfeld Follies of 1931''. She became a model for the Walter Thornton Modeling Agency in New York. Moving to Hollywood, she found employment with Fox Films and was cast in the film version of Dawn Powell's play ''Walking Down Broadway''. This was the first sound film by Erich von Stroheim. Buddy Roosevelt (born Kenneth Stanhope Sanderson; June 25, 1898 – October 6, 1973) was an American film and television actor and stunt performer from Hollywood's early silent film years through the 1950s. Biography Roosevelt was born as Kenneth Stanhope Sanderson in Meeker in Rio Blanco County in northwestern Colorado. He was an athlete and a cowboy in his youth. He started performing as a stuntman in 1916, his first work being on the film ''Hell's Hinges''. He continued working as a stuntman as well as an actor throughout his long Hollywood career. Roosevelt served in the United States Navy during World War I. Jay Wilsey (February 6, 1896 – October 25, 1961) was an American film actor (born Wilbert Jay Wilsey). He appeared in nearly 100 films between 1924 and 1944. He starred in a series of very low-budget westerns in the 1920s and 1930s, billed as Buffalo Bill Jr. Born in St. Francisville, Missouri, Wilsey rode in Wild West shows and rodeos before he became an actor. His first film was ''Rarin' to Go'' (1924). Wilsey's career as an actor diminished as sound films increased in popularity, causing him to become a stunt performer. A January 29, 1940, newspaper article reported that he had performed 6,000 stunts up to that time. Wilsey was married to actress Jeanette Boutelle. Art Mix (born George Washington Kesterson; June 18, 1896 – December 7, 1972), was an American character actor from the 1920s until the mid-1940s. Biography Prior to becoming an actor, Mix worked as a circus performer and a boxer. He initially appeared under his real name, Kesterson, before being given his stage name by Victor Adamson. Adamson calculated that a cowboy named "Art Mix" would be associated somehow with western superstar Tom Mix, and that small-town exhibitors who could not afford Tom Mix's expensive films would be likely to use cheaper films marketed with the lesser "Art Mix" brand name. Contract problems led Mix to leave Adamson and begin working for producer J. Charles Davis. Art Mix appeared in over 200 film shorts and feature films. Floyd Taliaferro Alderson (November 13, 1895 – February 10, 1980) was an American film actor who specialized in westerns. After serving in the Great War, he began his career in the era of silent films, when he frequently used the name Wally Wales.
