Powder Monkeys
Powder Monkeys were an Australian punk, indie rock band, formed in 1991. The founding mainstays, Tim Hemensley, on bass guitar and lead vocals and John Nolan on lead guitar were both ex-members of Bored!. Powder Monkeys released three studio albums, ''Smashed on a Knee'' (March 1994), ''Time Wounds all Heels'' (February 1996) and ''Lost City Blues'' (2000), before they broke up in 2002. Tim Hemensley died on 21 July 2003, aged 31, of a heroin overdose. History 1980s: Pre Powder Monkeys Hemensley had formed GOD as a punk rock group in 1986. Their most popular track, "My Pal", was released as a single in 1987. They disbanded in July 1989 just before their debut album, ''For Lovers Only'', appeared. Hemensley joined Bored! in late 1989 on bass guitar alongside Nolan. The new line-up of Bored! released a seven-track extended play, ''Take It out on You'' (1990), on Dog Meat Records. ''Tharunka'' is a student magazine published at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1953 at the then New South Wales University of Technology, ''Tharunka'' has been published in a variety of forms by various student organisations. At present, ''Tharunka'' is published 8 times a year by Arc @ UNSW, Arc @ UNSW Limited. The name ''Tharunka'' means "message stick" in a Central Australian Aboriginal Australians, Aboriginal language. The Dictators
The Dictators are an American punk rock band formed in New York City in 1973. Critic John Dougan said that they were "one of the finest and most influential proto-punk bands to walk the earth." Origins The band was formed in 1972 by Andy "Adny" Shernoff, who was attending the State University of New York at New Paltz, and Ross "The Boss" Friedman who was playing in a local band called Total Crudd. Scott "Top Ten" Kempner was asked to join, and the trio rented a house in Kerhonkson, New York, where they lived and rehearsed with various drummers. The Dogs (US Punk Band)
The Dogs are an American three-piece proto-punk band formed in Lansing, Michigan, United States, in 1968. They are noted for presaging the energy and sound of the later punk rock, punk and hardcore punk, hardcore genres. Originally formed by guitarist/vocalist Loren Molinare and bassist Mary Kay with drummer Ron Wood, and based in Lansing, The Dogs played with the rock and proto-punk bands of the time including Amboy Dukes, The Stooges, MC5, and The Up. Heroin, also known as diacetylmorphine and diamorphine among other names, is a potent opioid mainly used as a recreational drug for its euphoric effects. Seminal Rats were an Australian punk, indie rock band which existed from 1984 until the death of their lead guitarist, Michael Weber, in January 1999. The band's members were vocalist Michael Harley, guitarist Ruebin Pinkster, bassist Dave Balsamo (1984–93), then bassist Ian Wettenhall (1993–98), and drummer Todd McNeair. Fred Estby
Fred Estby (born 14 March 1972) is a Swedish drummer. He is best known as the drummer and main songwriter of the Swedish death metal band Dismember. Before he played drums in the band Carnage. Estby appeared in various other projects including The A-Bombs (drums), The Clint Eastwood Experience (drums), Daemon (vocals), and Shubniggurat (vocals), Dismemberizer (drums), Parodi (guitar), Death Breath (vocals). He has contributed vocals to the band Centinex of the album ''Subconscious Lobotomy''. Estby also appeared as a guest singer of Entombed in 1997 during a show in Stockholm and sang "Left Hand Path". After the release of 'The God That Never Was' and some touring, Fred Estby left the band "after long and careful consideration". Split Album
A split album (or split) is a music album that includes tracks by two or more separate artists. There are also singles and EPs of the same variety, which are often called "split singles" and "split EPs" respectively. The Esplanade Hotel, commonly known locally as "The Espy", is a hotel and music venue in the inner bayside suburb of St Kilda, in the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
