''Pour ceux qui dorment les yeux ouverts'' (''For those who sleep with their eyes open'') is an extended play by Congolese-French rapper Gims, which was released on 7 December 2006. It was also Gims's first solo project produced by Wati B. He also participated with the group Sexion d'Assaut in some songs. The disc contains nine songs. Background In parallel with his career with Sexion d'Assaut, Gims tried his hand at musical composition. At the end of 2006, he released his first solo project, a maxi entitled ''Pour ceux qui dorment les yeux ouverts''. The extended play was produced by ATK's Fredy K and Noko. With very few copies pressed, the disc aimed to make Gims known to the general public. The record features tracks with Sexion d'Assaut, Scred Connexion rapper Koma and a singer named Carole. Wati B () is an independent French record label established in 2000 by Dawala and rap band Intouchable. "Wati B" comes from , a Bamanankan expression that means "all the time". Dawala directs the operations of the label. ''Subliminal'' () is the debut solo album by Congolese-French singer and rapper Maître Gims. The 18-track album was released 20 May 2013 on Wati B and Monstre Marin Corporation, the latter founded by Maître Gims himself. The lyrics were all by Maître Gims whereas the music was by Maître Gims, Renaud Rebillaud and Stan-E Music. The album was a great success charting in France (reaching #2), Belgium (reaching #1) as well as charting in Switzerland. On 2 December 2013, it was reissued and titled ''Subliminal / La face cachée'' (, ), including 6 additional tracks for a total of 24 tracks. By 31 August 2015, the album had accumulated a total of more than 1,000,000 copies sold in France. In March 2021, "Bella" combined 488 million views. Sexion d'Assaut (), formerly known as 3ème Prototype (for "Troisième Prototype" ; en, "3rd Prototype"), is a French hip hop band formed in 2002, composed of eight Paris, Parisian rappers. They are signed to independent record label Wati B, which is under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment France. The founding members were L.I.O. Pétrodollars, Black M, Maska (rapper), Maska and Lefa (rapper), Lefa. In 2003, it became a collective as Maître Gims and JR O Crom joined in. Scred Connexion is a French rap collective launched in the 1990s composed by Fabe, Koma, Haroun, Mokless and Morad, with the assistance of Butch. Fabe decided to quit his rapping career in 2000 and quit the collective after releasing one additional solo album. "Scred" originates from a track by collective member Koma in his first maxi ''Époque de fous'' and is verlan for ''discret'' (meaning discreet). The collective released six musical projects with each member keeping his independence and solo projects they worked on concurrently.
