Brett Poulos was involved in a dispute over First Amendment rights. The Associated Press reported in May 2008 that he and the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) claim Tarrant County College "violated some students' constitutional rights by not allowing them to wear empty holsters and limiting their speech to a concrete platform, as part of a nationwide protest over campuses' ban on concealed weapons . Poulos formerly served as a national media liaison, Southwest Regional Director, and on the Board of Directors for Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and worked to align the plaintiffs with the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) so they could overturn TCC's ruling. As of October 15th 2010, TCC lost the battle and was ordered to pay $240,000 in legal fees. Dimitra Tsiliaskopoulos, better known as Dimi Poulos is an Australian soccer goalkeeper who last played for Western Sydney Wanderers in the W-League, as an injury replacement for Young Matildas goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold. While still at high school, Poulos played for the Wollongong Wolves in the New South Wales Women's League. Poulos played for the New South Wales Sapphires in the Australian Women's National Soccer League between 2002 and 2004. Georgios Poulos
Georgios Poulos ( el, Γεώργιος Πούλος; 1889, Romania – 11 June 1949) was a Greek Army colonel and Nazi collaborator during the Axis occupation of Greece during World War II. He was born in 1889 in Romania, hailing from Platanos, Aetolia-Acarnania. He seems to have participated in the Greco-Turkish War, while he participated in the 1935 Greek coup d'état attempt as a lieutenant colonel, leaving the army after its failure. A longtime ultra-nationalist, Colonel Poulos was fanatically anti-monarchist and anti-communist. In 1943, he organised and led the ''Poulos Verband'', the most feared collaborationist death squad in occupied-Greece. During 1944, his forces were reinforced by the ''Jagdkommando Schubert'', a paramilitary unit raised in Crete by the notorious Friedrich Schubert. Fencing
Fencing is a group of three related combat sports. The three disciplines in modern fencing are the foil, the épée, and the sabre (also ''saber''); winning points are made through the weapon's contact with an opponent. A fourth discipline, singlestick, appeared in the 1904 Olympics but was dropped after that and is not a part of modern fencing. Fencing was one of the first sports to be played in the Olympics. Based on the traditional skills of swordsmanship, the modern sport arose at the end of the 19th century, with the Italian school having modified the historical European martial art of classical fencing, and the French school later refining the Italian system. Jimmy Poulos (born March 14, 1952) is a former American football running back who played one season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). John Poulos (March 31, 1947 – March 26, 1980), also known by his nickname Jon Jon, was the original drummer for The Buckinghams, and one of its founding members in 1965. Early life His mother Ann and father John Sr. are of Greek origin. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois in 1965. Leah Jean Poulos-Mueller (''née'' Poulos, born October 5, 1951) is an American retired speed skater. She competed at the 1972, 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and won two silver medals in 1980 and one in 1976. She garnered more than 65 Olympic, world, and international speed skating medals and titles during a career that spanned 12 competitive years and three Olympic teams. After retiring from competitions she had a long career in law as a civil litigator. Early life and education In the early years, Poulos was a member of the Northbrook Speedskating Club in Northbrook, Illinois where many Olympians were trained. The club was founded in 1952 and resulted in Northbrook being dubbed as the ''Speedskating Capital of the World''.
