Mülheim An Der Ruhr
Mülheim, officially Mülheim an der Ruhr () and also described as ''"City on the River"'', is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. It is located in the Ruhr Area between Duisburg, Essen, Oberhausen and Ratingen. It is home to many companies, especially in the food industry, such as the Aldi Süd Company, the Harke Group and the Tengelmann Group. Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour. Up to 1993 the Challenge Tour rankings were based on each player's best several results, but since 1994 it has been a straightforward money list, with all results counting. Players who are successful on the Challenge Tour qualify for membership of the European Tour the following year. Twenty players earn direct promotion to the European Tour. Stroke Play
Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds. Felipe Andrés Aguilar Schuller (born November 7, 1974) is a Chilean professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Career In 2006 he became the second Chilean, after Roy Mackenzie to earn full membership to the European Tour but failed to retain full playing rights at the end of the season. In 2007 he won two events on the Challenge Tour in a 4-week span. Due to his success on the Challenge Tour he rejoined the European Tour in 2008. In February 2008, Aguilar won his first European Tour event at the Astro Indonesia Open. He birdied the final hole while the erstwhile leader Jeev Milkha Singh bogeyed for a two shot swing that saw the Chilean win by one stroke. Andrew McArthur
Andrew McArthur (born 8 May 1979) is a Scottish professional golfer. McArthur was born in Lanark. He turned professional in 2005 after a successful amateur career. He qualified for the second tier Challenge Tour by reaching the final stage of qualifying school. He narrowly missed out on graduating to the elite European Tour three times by ending the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons just outside the top 20 on the Challenge Tour Rankings. He finally gained his European Tour card for 2010 by finishing in 17th place on the rankings in 2009. McArthur has two wins on the Challenge Tour: the Reale Challenge de España in 2008 and the D+D Real Slovakia Challenge in 2014. Paul Waring
Paul James Waring (born 2 February 1985) is an English professional golfer. Waring was born in Birkenhead. He had a successful amateur career which included winning the English Amateur in 2005. He turned professional in 2007 and almost enjoyed immediate success on the second tier Challenge Tour when he lost out in a playoff to Felipe Aguilar at the Postbank Challenge in Germany. He has since competed on the European Tour after gaining his card at that year's qualifying school. On the European Tour, Waring finished tied for third place in the 2013 Portugal Masters and the 2015 Maybank Malaysian Open. In February 2017 he had his highest finish on the tour when he was runner-up in the Joburg Open. European Tour
The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged fifty or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men’s professional golf in Europe. The tour's headquarters are at the Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. Marcel Siem
Marcel Siem (born 15 July 1980) is a German professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Career Siem was born in Mettmann. He turned professional in 2000 and came through Qualifying School to join the European Tour in 2002. He was again successful at Qualifying School in 2002. His first win on the European Tour came at the 2004 Dunhill Championship. Siem then had to wait eight years before picking up his second win in 2012 at the Alstom Open de France. This victory ensured Siem's place in the 2012 Open Championship and his first appearance in a World Golf Championship at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. His best year end ranking on the Order of Merit is 14th in 2012. In March 2013, Siem won for the third time on the European Tour at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco.
