Portsmouth F.C. Reserves And Academy
Portsmouth F.C. XI and Academy consist of the reserve and academy footballers of Portsmouth F.C. Portsmouth XI Previously called Portsmouth Reserves, the Portsmouth XI consists of mainly young players under the age of 23 who are no longer eligible for the academy but are still trying to make the step up to the senior team. This team is used to give younger professional players and first team players returning from injury the chance to play and keep or improve match fitness, or for trialists at the club to impress in a match environment. The club are currently opting out of fielding a competitive, league-based reserve team. Instead, young players have been sent out on loan to local non-league football clubs for first-team action and a number of friendly matches are arranged over the course of the season for players to play in. Joel Edward Philip Ward (born 29 October 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Crystal Palace. His usual position is right-back but he can also play at left-back, centre-back, and in midfield. Matthew Thomas Ritchie (born 10 September 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Newcastle United. Avraham "Avram" Grant ( he, אברהם "אברם" גרנט; born Avraham Granat; ) is an Israeli professional football manager. TuS Dassendorf is a German association football club from the municipality of Dassendorf, Schleswig-Holstein.
