Ports Authority Football Club is a Sierra Leonean professional Association football, football club based in the capital Freetown. The club is a member of the Sierra Leone National Premier League, which is the top football division in Sierra Leone. The club is owned and run by the Sierra Leone Ports Authority (SLPA). Ports Authority play their home games at the National Stadium in Freetown. One of the biggest and most popular football clubs in Sierra Leone, they won the Sierra Leone National Premier League championship in 1973 and again in 2008. They have won the Sierra Leonean FA Cup competition on two consecutive times in 1990 and 1991. Ports Authority have an intense rivalry with East End Lions as both clubs come from the east end of Freetown. National Stadium (Sierra Leone)
The Siaka Stevens National Stadium, commonly known informally as the National Stadium, is the national stadium of Sierra Leone, located in the capital city of Freetown. It is used mostly for football matches and it also has athletics facilities. It is the largest and main stadium in Sierra Leone and has a 45,000 capacity. The stadium serves as the exclusive home of the Sierra Leone national football team, known as the Leone Stars. Sam Obi Metzger, Jr. (born 19 September 1987 ) is a Sierra Leonean former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or second striker. International career Metzger played at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland. Sierra Leone lost two of the three games at the tournament, including a 2–1 loss to the United States team. Metzger played in all three games and was again the top scorer for Sierra Leone with two goals. Kewullay Conteh (born 31 December 1977) is a Sierra Leonean former professional Association football, footballer who played as a defender. He spent most his career in Italy while representing the Sierra Leone national team at international level. Career Kewullay was born and raised in Fourah Bay, a neighbourhood in Freetown, Sierra Leone to Limba parents. He attended the Albert Academy Secondary school in Freetown. Conteh first moved to Italy in November 1995, joining Serie A team Atalanta from Swedish side FC Café Opera (now AFC United). Patrick Ogunsoto (born 19 April 1983) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent the majority of his career in Greece and is best known for his tenure at Greek side Ergotelis, for which he still remains the all-time top scorer. Career Early career Ogunsoto started his career with local clubs in Lagos, eventually signing with local side Julius Berger at 17.
