Portones Shopping
Portones Shopping is a shopping mall of Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the neighborhood Carrasco. It receives its name from the ''Portones de Carrasco'' (Gates of Carrasco) a landmark of the neighborhood. The mall is managed by the Estudio Luis E. Lecueder (which in turn is owned along with the Montevideo Shopping, Tres Cruces Shopping, Nuevocentro Shopping, Salto Shopping Terminal, Mercedes Terminal Shopping, Colonia Shopping and the Paysandú Terminal Shopping). Bordering the building, on Bolivia Avenue is the Portones Terminal with bus service to many neighborhoods of the city. History The project began in 1989 when Carlos V. Metzen, Oscar Sena, Luis E. Avenida Italia
Italy Avenue (Spanish: ''Avenida Italia'') is a major thoroughfare in Montevideo, Uruguay. Its name honors the country from whose immigrants about 40% of Uruguayans descend. It runs almost parallel to that of Gral Rivera Avenue, the Rambla and Camino Carrasco, constituting the main arterial road of the city, since it connects with the network of highways that lead to the east of the country. It extends through several neighborhoods heading east, and ends with the intersection with Avenida Luis Giannattasio (which runs through Ciudad de la Costa and Avenida de las Américas (which leads to the Carrasco International Airport and the Interbalnearia and 101 routes), in the Canelones Department. Shopping Mall
A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. Carrasco, Montevideo
Carrasco is a ''barrio'' (neighbourhood or district) in Montevideo, Uruguay. Located on the city's southeast coast, the barrio was originally an elegant seaside resort. However, it eventually became the city's most exclusive suburb. Carrasco is regarded as one of the most expensive barrios in Montevideo, and features a wide range of architectural styles. Location Carrasco borders Punta Gorda, Montevideo, Punta Gorda to the west, Carrasco Norte to the north, Canelones Department to the east and the coastline to the south. Montevideo Shopping
Montevideo Shopping Center is the first shopping mall that opened in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the neighborhood Buceo, on the border with Pocitos, right in front of the World Trade Center Montevideo. The mall Opened in 1985 and later expanded, it has 181 shops on three levels; parking place for 2051 vehicles on six levels. It was created by Estudio Gómez Platero, López Rey Estudio Gómez Platero, with the intervention of the engineer Eladio Dieste in the original brick structure. Tres Cruces Bus Station
Tres Cruces bus station (Spanish:''Terminal Tres Cruces'') is the main bus terminal in Uruguay. It is located in the Tres Cruces district, in Montevideo. Overview On July 11, 1991, President Luis A. Lacalle signed the agreement for the construction of the Bus Terminal. The building was designed by the studio of the architect Guillermo Gómez Platero, with the collaboration of Enrique Cohe and Roberto Alberti. The station was inaugurated on November 16, 1994. The structure is brick. Tres Cruces concentrates the largest passenger traffic in the country, from there national and international destinations are operated. Nuevocentro Shopping
Nuevocentro Shopping is a shopping mall of Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the neighborhood Jacinto Vera. The name of the shopping center arose from a contest in 2009 called "Name your New Shopping", in which 20,000 proposals participated. The name chosen was Nuevocentro and reflects what the new commercial proposal will mean for the city of Montevideo. The mall With an investment of 60 million dollars, Nuevocentro shopping is the fifth shopping center with these characteristics in the Uruguayan capital. The project was presented in 2008, and had the endorsement of the then President Tabaré Vázquez.
