Porto Palermo (Albania)
The Porto Palermo () is a bay in southwestern Albania. In the middle of the bay there is a small peninsula, it connection to the mainland serves as a parking space for campers and it has sandy beach. Porto Palermo fortress On the peninsula is a well-preserved old fortress, the ''Kalaja e Porto Palermos'' (''Castle of Porto Palermo ''). The complex with a triangular ground plan and three round corner bastions is similar to the triangular fortress in Butrint. It was once located in a restricted military area and was still used by the Albanian military during the communist times. Today the fortress is accessible for a small fee and can be explored. The dark vaults lead to the roof, from where you have a good view of the bay. The history of its origins and construction is not entirely clear. Porto Palermo Castle (Albanian: ''Kalaja e Porto Palermos'') is a castle near Himarë in southern Albania. It is situated in the bay of Porto Palermo, a few kilometers south of Himarë along the Albanian Riviera. Huffington Post ranked Porto Palermo first among 15 Undiscovered European Destinations for 2014. The area together with Llamani beach will be proclaimed a protected area holding the status of Protected Landscape by the Albanian Government. It is the most well preserved garrison erected by Ali Pasha in the region. Martin Camaj
Martin Camaj (21 July 1925 – 12 March 1992) was an Albanian folklorist, linguist, and writer. He is regarded as one of the major authors of modern Albanian prose. His novel ''Rrathë'' is considered to be the first psychological novel written in Albanian. Life Martin Camaj was born in Temal, Shkodër District, Shkodër County, northwestern Albania on 21 July 1925. He first studied in the Jesuit Saverian College of Shkodër and afterwards in the University of Belgrade. Later Camaj worked as professor of Albanian at the Sapienza University of Rome, where he did postgraduate research and finished studies on linguistics in 1960. In 1957 he became the editor-in-chief of the Albanological journal ''Shejzat'' published in Rome. In 1961 he settled in Munich and first worked as a lector at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, while in 1964 he became a Privatdozent. Whiskey-class submarines (known in the Soviet Union as List of ships of Russia by project number, Projects 613, 640, 644, and 665) are a class of diesel-electric attack submarines that the Soviet Union built in the early Cold War period. Enver Halil Hoxha ( , ; 16 October 190811 April 1985) was an Albanian communist politician who was the authoritarian ruler of Albania from 1944 until his death in 1985. He was First Secretary of the Party of Labour of Albania from 1941 until his death in 1985. He was also a member of the Politburo of the Party of Labour of Albania, chairman of the Democratic Front of Albania, and commander-in-chief of the armed forces and ruled the country from 1944 until his death in 1985. Albanian Naval Force
The Albanian Naval Force ( sq, Forca Detare të Republikës së Shqipërisë) is the naval branch of the Albanian military. Their name was changed from the Albanian Naval Defense Forces in 2010. The Naval Force is headquartered in Durrës, and operates multiple bases, including Kepi i Palit base in Durrës, and Pashaliman in Vlorë. The vessels of the Albanian Naval Force are mostly patrol craft and support craft. The Naval Force operates four large Damen Stan Type 4207 patrol boats, three of which were built in Albania.
