Harry A. Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex is a 4,892-capacity soccer-specific stadium in Portland, Oregon on the campus of the University of Portland where it serves as home to the school's soccer teams. From March 29, 2015 until the end of 2016, the stadium played host to the Portland Timbers' USL side Portland Timbers 2. History The stadium was constructed in 1990. It is named after Harry Merlo, Harry A. Merlo, a businessman and philanthropist. Merlo Field hosted a quarter-final game in the 2001 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, Women's NCAA Division I Championship and then first and second-round games of the tournament in 2003. In 2004, the school added six light standards to illuminate the field to allow for night games at the venue. Scott Benedetti
Scott "Benny" Benedetti (born November 13, 1966 in Portland, Oregon) is an American retired soccer player. He began his professional career with the semi-professional F.C. Portland in 1986 and ended it with the U.S. second division club Portland Timbers in 2005. While he spent most of his career in the U.S. divisions, he had just over a season in Major League Soccer and half a season in the Primera División de México with UNAM Pumas. He earned one cap with the U.S. national team in 1996. He played in such places as South Korea, Thailand, England, Austria and Scotland. High school and college Benedetti attended Centennial High School in Gresham, Oregon. Benedetti attended the University of Portland where he played men's soccer for Clive Charles from 1985 to 1989. Noah Timothy Beck (born May 4, 2001) is an American social media personality most known for his content on TikTok. In 2019, Beck was a midfielder for the Portland Pilots men's soccer team. Benjamin Stanley "Benji" Michel (born October 23, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Primeira Liga club Arouca. Having played college soccer for the Portland Pilots, he was signed to a homegrown contract by Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer ahead of the 2019 season. Wade Webber
Wade Webber (born January 12, 1967) is an American soccer coach and former player who spent most of his career with clubs in the Pacific Northwest. However, he did see three years in Major League Soccer with the Dallas Burn and Miami Fusion before suffering a career ending knee injury. Ian McLean (27 August 192923 March 1965) was an Australian rules football player in the Victorian Football League, (VFL). Family The son of Alexander Leonard McLean (1887–1956), and Elsie May McLean (1888–1961), née Robertson, Ian McLean was born at Bendigo, Victoria on 27 August 1929.
