Volusia County Schools is the public school district for Volusia County, Florida, United States. The district serves the 16 cities of Daytona Beach, DeBary, DeLand, DeLeon Springs, Deltona, Edgewater, Enterprise, Holly Hill, Lake Helen, New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, Orange City, Ormond Beach, Osteen, Pierson, and Port Orange. It is the 57th largest school district in the United States and serves approximately 63,000 students. The district is composed of 45 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, and 9 high schools. In addition there are 9 alternative schools, 7 charter schools, 2 combination schools (K-8 or 6-12), and 1 district virtual instruction program. The district is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/AdvancED. Leadership Volusia County Schools is led by Superintendent Dr. Carmen Balgobin and five elected members of the school board, one from each district in the county.

The Chiles Academy
The Chiles Academy is a public charter school located in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. It is part of the Volusia County Schools district. The school was originally built in 1926 as the Cypress Street Elementary School. Initially, the school consisted of a two-story block and stucco building with two brick wings. The school's name was changed in 1954 to Bonner Elementary School to honor its first and longest-serving principal, Evelyn Bonner, who headed the school from 1927 to 1959. Before her tenure at Cypress Street Elementary, Ms. Bonner taught at Campbell Elementary for 16 years. Following her retirement, Ms. Bonner continued to visit the school almost daily until her death in 1977 at the age of 85. Spruce Creek High School is a public secondary school located in the city of Port Orange, Florida. It is the largest IB high school in North America and is one of Newsweek's Top 100 High Schools. Pine Ridge High School is a public high school located in Deltona, Florida. It was built in 1994 and is located at 926 Howland Blvd, near S.R. 415. Pine Ridge High School's team mascot is the Panther and its colors are teal, black, and gold. Pine Ridge has a twin school Atlantic High School. Both schools were built on the same design but by different contractors. Deltona High School is a public high school located in Deltona, Florida, Deltona, Florida, United States. It is located on Wolf Pack Run, east of Interstate 4 in the city's northwestern corner.
