''Port Authority'' is the debut studio album by Canadian hip hop producer Marco Polo. It was released on Soulspazm and Rawkus Records on May 15, 2007. It is the first installment of the ''Port Authority'' series, followed by '' PA2: The Director's Cut'' in 2013. Critical reception Timmhotep Aku of '' XXL'' praised Marco Polo's decision to feature "some of the East Coast's finest vets and samples." Rowald Pruyn of RapReviews.com described him as "a one man band, creating instead of compiling." Marco Bruno (born December 26, 1979), better known by his stage name Marco Polo, is a Canadian hip hop record producer. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he is based in New York City, New York. The Beatnuts are an American hip hop group and production duo from New York City. Its current members are JuJu and Psycho Les. JuJu (born Jerry Tineo on December 14, 1968) is a Dominican American from Corona and Psycho Les (born Lester Fernandez on April 10, 1970) is a Colombian American from Jackson Heights, Queens. Although only peripheral members, they are routinely acknowledged by Q-Tip as being members of Native Tongues. Derek Murphy (born December 29, 1968), better known as Sadat X, is an American rapping, rapper, best known as a member of alternative hip hop group Brand Nubian. Originally known as Derek X, Sadat takes his name from former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. Supastition is an American underground hip hop artist from Greenville, North Carolina. He has also recorded under the name of Kam Moye and Blackmel (in earlier years).
