The film premiered at the 2017 San Sebastián International Film Festival and was released in Romania on 19 January 2018. Constantin Popescu (director)
Constantin Popescu (1921–1999) was a Romanian communist politician and forestry engineer. Between November 1952 to March 1957, he served in several cabinets under the communist regime. In particular, he was Minister of Forestry Management from November 1952 to January 1953 under Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej. In the next Gheorghiu-Dej cabinet, he held the same post from January to November 1953. Then, from May 1954 to October 1955, he was Forestry Agriculture Minister. The San Sebastián International Film Festival ( SSIFF; es, Festival Internacional de San Sebastián, eu, Donostia Zinemaldia) is an annual FIAPF A category film festival held in the Spanish city of Donostia-San Sebastián in September, in the Basque Country. The Gopo Awards ( ro, Premiile Gopo) are the national Romanian film awards, similar to the Academy Awards (US), the Goya Awards (Spain), or the César Award (France). They are presented by the Association for Romanian Film Promotion and were inaugurated in 2007. Trophy Established in 2007, the Gopo Awards were named in honour of Romanian film director Ion Popescu-Gopo, also celebrating the 50th anniversary of his winning a prize in the Cannes Film Festival.
