Porfirio Díaz
José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori ( or ; ; 15 September 1830 – 2 July 1915), known as Porfirio Díaz, was a Mexican general and politician who served seven terms as President of Mexico, a total of 31 years, from 28 November 1876 to 6 December 1876, 17 February 1877 to 1 December 1880 and from 1 December 1884 to 25 May 1911. The entire period from 1876 to 1911 is often referred to as Porfiriato and has been characterized as a ''de facto'' dictatorship. A veteran of the War of the Reform (1858–1860) and the French intervention in Mexico (1862–1867), Díaz rose to the rank of general, leading republican troops against the French-backed rule of Maximilian I. He subsequently revolted against presidents Benito Juárez and Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada on the principle of no re-election. Porfirio DiDonna
Porfirio DiDonna (1942–1986) was an American artist. Life Porfirio DiDonna was born on 11 April 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Frank and Mary DiDonna. He had an older brother and sister, Salvatore and Joanne, and a younger sister, Catherine. He died in Brooklyn on 26 August 1986 at the age of 44. Work DiDonna went to Alexander Hamilton Technical High School in Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn College for one semester. In 1961 he enrolled in the Pratt Institute, also in Brooklyn, and graduated in 1964. From 1966 to 1968 he pursued his graduate degree in fine arts at Columbia University. Among his early influences were Matisse, Mondrain, and Kandinsky, as well as Raphael and early Italian Renaissance artists such as Fra Angelico. Porfirio Salinas (November 6, 1910 – April 18, 1973) was an early Texas landscape painter who is recognized for his depictions of the Texas Hill Country in the springtime. He was one of the first Mexican American artists to become nationally recognized for his paintings. He was described by ''The New York Times'' as being United States President Lyndon B. Johnson's favorite painter. Works by Salinas are displayed in the Texas State Capitol, the Texas Governor's Mansion and in a number of museums including the Witte Museum in San Antonio, Texas and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. Porfirio Lobo Sosa (born 22 December 1947), known as Pepe Lobo, is a Honduran politician and agricultural landowner who served as President of Honduras from 2010 to 2014. A member of the conservative National Party and a former deputy in the National Congress of Honduras from 1990, he was president of the National Congress of Honduras from 2002 to 2006. He came second to Manuel Zelaya with 46% of the vote in the 2005 general election. After the military ousted Zelaya in a coup d'état, Lobo was elected president in the 2009 presidential election and took office on 27 January 2010. Porfirio Alejandro Muñoz Ledo y Lazo de la Vega (born July 23, 1933 in Mexico City) is a Mexican politician. He is one of the founders of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). He is the current Mexican Ambassador to Cuba since January 2022. Porfirio Armando Betancourt Carranza (10 October 1957 – 28 July 2021) was a Honduran professional footballer. Youth Born in Lima, Honduras, Betancourt grew up in a soccer family. His father, Porfirio Betancourt played for Club Deportivo Olimpia and his two uncles played for Club Deportivo Platense. As a youth player, he played for the Honduran Brewery club beginning in 1976. Miguel Ángel Osorio Benítez (July 29, 1883 – January 14, 1942), better known by his pseudonym, Porfirio Barba-Jacob, was a Colombian poet and writer. Born in Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, to parents Antonio María Osorio and Pastora Benítez, he was raised by his grandparents in Angostura. In 1895 he started his travels, first through Colombia, and from 1907 to Central America and the United States, before finally settling down in 1930 in Mexico City. Around 1902 in Bogotá, he founded the literary magazine "El cancionero antioqueño" (''The Antioquian songbook''), which he managed under the pseudonym Marín Jiménez. Porfirio López Meza (; born September 10, 1985 in San José, Costa Rica) is a Costa Rican professional football player who currently plays for Municipal Perez Zeledon in the Costa Rican Premier Division. Hugo Cardoso Porfírio (born 28 September 1973) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played mostly as a winger. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 86 games and ten goals over the course of nine seasons, representing five clubs. He also competed in England, Spain and Saudi Arabia.
