Pont Cardinet (Paris Métro)
Pont Cardinet () is a station on Line 14 of the Paris Métro located in the Batignolles neighbourhood of the 17th arrondissement. It was opened on 14 December 2020 as part of the extension to Mairie de Saint-Ouen and is located nearby to Pont Cardinet station. History As part of the public consultation on the extension of line 14 to Mairie de Saint-Ouen launched in January 2010, many contributors called for a metro station at Pont-Cardinet. The STIF manager indicated, in summary of this consultation, that he would propose to the STIF Board to establish if this could be achieved. In 2011, the diagram outlining the desaturation of line 13 considered the geological complexities including the risks of land settlement impacting existing town planning, which lead STIF to rule out the idea of a connection of line 14 with the Rome metro station to favour a connection at Pont Cardinet. The MP 05 (French : Métro sur Pneu d'appel d'offres de 2005)''Rubber-tyred metro ordered in 2005'' is a rubber-tyred electric multiple unit with driverless operation ordered by the RATP in 2005 for the Paris Métro. The original 49 units were designed to replace the older MP 89s on line 1 in order to automate the line. An additional fleet of 18 MP 05s was ordered for deployment on the line 14 by 2017 in order to improve service frequencies and to prepare for the line's northern extension towards Mairie de Saint-Ouen, as well as provide service enhancements to Line 1. MP 89
The MP 89 (French : Métro sur Pneus d'appel d'offres de 1989) is a rubber tired variant of electric multiple units used on the Paris Métro. Designed by Roger Tallon, two types are built by GEC-Alsthom for service on Lines 4 and 14, and soon to be Line 6. The trains on Line 1 were moved to Line 4 between 2011 and 2013 to replace the older MP 59s, though only 48 trains are used for revenue service. The remaining four trains are stored either at Montrouge or Saint Ouen as operational spares. Conception In 1978, RATP possessed a large number of outdated Sprague-Thomson trains, many of which were rapidly approaching 60 and 70 years old. With the MF 77 trains in place along Lines 8, 9 and 13, most of the Sprague were replaced. However, there were still some trains in service along Line 9, which were approaching 80 years old. Porte de Clichy () is a station on Line 13 and Line 14 of the Paris Métro and RER C, as well as a stop on Île-de-France tramway Line 3b.
