Ponolem
Ponolem (or Punolem) is a village in North Goa's Bardez ''taluka'' (sub-district), India. It lies in the Goa Assembly constituency of Aldona. Location It has Carona village and Calvim to its west, and Maem or Mayem in Bicholim ''taluka'' is close to its eastern side. The Calvim bridge is also within short distance of Ponolem. Health centre Along with Calvim and Carona, Punolem (or Ponolem) is covered by the Primary Health Centre at Aldona, which has a strength of 12 beds and covers some ten villages or areas (Bastora, Moira, Calvim, Pomburpa, Salvador do Mundo, Penha de France, Socorro, Corjuem, Brittona II or Betim, and the Aldona-Quitla area). Demographics Census records of 2011 say Ponolem (their spelling) is a tiny village covering 92.10 hectares, has just 29 households, 120 persons (63 male and 57 female), and a total of 12 under-the-age-of-six children (comprising nine boys and three girls). Calvim Bridge
Calvim is an island village situated in the Bardez sub-district or ''taluka'' of Goa. It is in the vicinity of the prominent Aldona village. Location Calvim comes under the Aldona village ''panchayat'', and is one of the two islands—Corjuem and Calvim-Ponolem—in this jurisdiction. In the vicinity but outside the island are a primary health centre, sub-health centre, Electricity Department and police outpost and a fish market. Calvim is one of the four areas with a bridge in the area, besides three at Corjuem, Church There is a church at Calvim. According to José Lourenço, the church of St Sebastian (São Sebastião) was elevated as a church in 1980, and has its feast on 15 May. It was originally a chapel built by Calvim islanders and erected on 2 December 1864. Later, it was rebuilt in 1934 and blessed on 24 January 1936. Bardez
''Bardez'' ( kok, Bardes; pt, Bardes; IPA: ) is a ''taluka'' of the North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. It was a ''concelho'' in the Portuguese State of India before 1961. Etymology The name is credited to the Saraswat Brahmin immigrants who emigrated to the Konkan via Magadha plains in northern India. Bardez, or more properly ''bara'' (twelve) ''desh'' (country), means "twelve countries" (or territories). Goa Assembly

Bicholim
Bicholim, pronounced (), also known as Divchal and Dicholi, is a town and a municipal council in North Goa district in the state of Goa, India. Aldona is a village in the Taluka of Bardez in the Indian state of Goa. It is known for producing several prominent Goans. Geography Aldona is located at at an average elevation of . Aldona, as a comunidade-village, comprises around 16 wards.
