Tlemcen
Tlemcen (; ar, تلمسان, translit=Tilimsān) is the second-largest city in northwestern Algeria after Oran, and capital of the Tlemcen Province. The city has developed leather, carpet, and textile industries, which it exports through the port of Rachgoun. It had a population of 140,158 at the 2008 census, while the province had 949,135 inhabitants. Former capital of the central Maghreb, the city mixes Berbers, Berber, Arabs, Arab, Hispano-Moorish, Ottoman Empire, Ottoman, and Western influence on Africa, Western influences. From this mosaic of influences, the city derives the title of capital of Andalusian art in Algeria. According to the author Dominique Mataillet, various titles are attributed to the city including "the pearl of the Maghreb", "the African Granada" and "the Medina of the West". Pomaria, South Carolina
Pomaria is a town in Newberry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 179 at the 2010 census. History Pomaria was first settled in the mid 18th century by German, Swiss, and Dutch immigrants escaping the poverty and harsh conditions resulting from the Thirty Years' War. Many of these immigrants brought with them the beliefs and ideals of their Lutheran Religion. The first meeting of the South Carolina Lutheran Synod was in the house of John Eichelberger, who lived in Pomaria. Some of the later presidents of The Synod lived in or preached in and around Pomaria. Pomaria was later affected by the establishment of the Hope School. The Hope School was a Rosenwald School to help rural African-Americans attend school. The land was donated by the family of James Haskell Hope, who later became the longest serving Superintendent of Education of South Carolina. Pomaria (Summer–Huggins House)
Pomaria, also known as the Summer–Huggins House, is a historic plantation house located near Pomaria, Newberry County, South Carolina. It was built about 1825, and is a two-story, frame dwelling on a raised basement with Greek Revival and Federal style design elements. It features a two-story, projecting pedimented portico. Also on the property are the contributing log smokehouse, a board and batten privy, and a Carpenter Gothic post office, which served as the first post office in the Dutch Fork. Pomaria Nurseries were begun on the plantation in 1840. Henderson, New Zealand
Henderson ( mi, Ōpanuku) is a major suburb of West Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is west of Auckland city centre, and west of the Whau River, a southwestern arm of the Waitematā Harbour. The suburb is located within the Henderson-Massey Local Board of the Waitākere Ward, one of the thirteen administrative divisions of Auckland Council. Geography Henderson is located between the Waitākere Ranges to the west, and the Te Atatū Peninsula in the east. The area is within the catchment of Te Wai-o-Pareira / Henderson Creek, an estuarial arm of the upper Waitematā Harbour. The Opanuku, Oratia, Swanson, Momutu and Paremuka streams meet at Te Wai-o-Pareira / Henderson Creek, to the north of Henderson.
