Polyester Zeal is the major label debut studio album by the American rock band Red Sun Rising. It was released on August 7, 2015 by Razor & Tie. The album peaked outside the top 40 on the US ''Billboard'' Rock Albums chart and spawned five singles (three official and two promotional): " The Otherside", " Emotionless", "Amnesia", "Push" and "Unnatural". Promotion On May 16, 2016, the band was announced alongside Pop Evil as supporting acts for 3 Doors Down's summer-fall tour supporting their sixth album ''Us and the Night'', starting on August 26 at Charleston's Municipal Auditorium and finishing on November 12 at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort. Red Sun Rising is an American rock band from Akron, Ohio that is currently on hiatus. The band has released two studio albums through the Razor & Tie record label; their first, ''Polyester Zeal'', in 2015, and their second, '' Thread'', on March 30, 2018. The band also released an EP titled ''Peel'' on March 22, 2019. History Red Sun Rising formed in 2006 when Mike Protich and Ryan Williams, who used to be high school classmates, struck up a conversation about music at a gas station. By 2007, Red Sun Rising's first line-up was formed and they were playing local gigs. In 2011, Tyler Valendza joined the group, bringing a new element to the group's sound. They built a following by previewing their self-released albums over their social media websites and were touring nationally by 2013. In 2014, the band signed with Razor & Tie records and released their album ''Polyester Zeal'' in August 2015 which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hard Rock album chart. Pop Evil is an American rock band that was formed in North Muskegon, Michigan, in 2001 by Leigh Kakaty. The band's roots reside in TenFive, a group formed in the late-1990s by Kakaty and guitarist Jason Reed. Pop Evil won the Radio Contraband Rock Radio Award for "Song of the Year" for "Trenches" in 2013. History Early years (2001–2007) The band was formed from pieces of other Michigan bands in 2001, including a group known as TenFive, which consisted of Kakaty, guitarists Tom Grasman and Jason Reed, bassist James Schaap, and drummer Dylan Allison. As TenFive, Kakaty and Reed recorded a debut album, Severn, and another EP, Dam Electro, on their own independent label. Shortly thereafter, TenFive broke up and Kakaty founded Pop Evil with Allison. Red is the color at the long wavelength end of the visible spectrum of light, next to orange and opposite violet. It has a dominant wavelength of approximately 625–740 nanometres.
