Poltringen
Poltringen is a village in the centre of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Before the Württemberg sovereignty came in 1805, Poltringen was two thirds under Austrian rule and one third under Württemberg rule. It has been part of the Ammerbuch municipality since 1971. It has a population of 1,831 on an area of 484 km². Ammerbuch
Ammerbuch is a municipality in the district of Tübingen, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 7 km northwest of Tübingen. Geographical location The municipality Ammerbuch is 345–551 meters above sea level in part on the edge of the Schönbuch nature park, and partly in the valley of Ammer in the northern Gäu. Geology Ammerbuch is located in the Gäu, which is dominated by keuper, gypsum and sandstone layers. Since 1750, limestone was mined in Reusten, the last quarry was closed in 1970. In Breitenholz, Entringen, Poltringen and Altingen gypsum was mined, but now only the gypsum quarry in Altingen is in operation. In the northern Schönbuch, but also in Breitenholz sandstone was broken since 1383. Poltringen Airfield
Poltringen Airfield is a private airfield located in Poltringen, which belongs to the town of Ammerbuch, Germany. It is located west of Tübingen and southwest of Stuttgart. It is only open to airplanes and gliders of the aviation clubs Ammerbuch, Herrenberg and Unterjesingen. Exceptions must be approved by the administration of the Tübingen (region), Tübingen region.

Ammer (Neckar)
The Ammer () is a small river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a tributary of the Neckar. It has its source southwest of Herrenberg. Along the southern edge of the Schönbuch, it flows through Herrenberg, Ammerbuch, Unterjesingen and Tübingen, before it discharges into the Neckar at Tübingen-Lustnau after . Geography Course Origin of the Ammer are Ammer springs in the upper valley five spring pots southwest of Herrenberg in the district of Böblingen. From there the Ammer flows through the valley named after it at the southern edge of the Schönbuch nature park as well as the communities Gültstein and Ammerbuch, uniting in Tübingen with the Goldersbach and flows a little later in the Tübingen district Lustnau from the left into the upper Neckar. On its way of 22,5 km the Ammer falls about 94 meters. The Neckar () is a river in Germany, mainly flowing through the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, with a short section through Hesse. The Neckar is a major right tributary of the Rhine. Tübingen (district)
Tübingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Böblingen, Reutlingen, Zollernalbkreis and Freudenstadt. History The district dates back to the ''Oberamt Tübingen'' in the state of Württemberg. In 1811 the ''Oberamt Rottenburg'' was created, and both were converted into districts in 1934. Herrenberg (Swabian German, Swabian: ''Härrabärg'' or ''Haerebärg'') is a town in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, about 30 km south of Stuttgart and 20 km from Tübingen.
