Polond Desert
Polond Desert ( fa, کویر پلوند, translit=Kavir e Polond, also Romanized as Plond Desert), also known as the Mozaffari Desert ( ), is a desert located 40 kilometers West of Ferdows, South Khorasan Province, Iran. Polond Desert is located inside the Mozaffari Protected Area, near the village Chah-e Polond in Ferdows County. Places to visit Sandy hills and dunes adjacent to mountains form amazing landscapes. Among the unique natural attractions of the region, is a dune known as ''Cheetah's Tail'' ( fa, دم یوز, translit=Dom e Youz) because its shape is like a Cheetah's tail. Ferdows
Ferdows ( fa, فردوس, also Romanized as Ferdos, Ferdous, and Firdaus; named Toon or Tūn until 1929) is a city and capital of Ferdows County, located in the north of South Khorasan Province in Iran. It is about south of Mashhad and 200 km northwest of Birjand. Ferdous is located on the main axis connecting Yazd, Kerman, Isfahan, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Fars provinces to Mashhad. South Khorasan Province
South Khorasan Province ( fa, استان خراسان جنوبی ''Ostān-e Khorāsān-e Jonūbī'') is a province located in eastern Iran. Birjand is the centre of the province. The other major cities are Ferdows, Tabas and Qaen. In 2014, it was placed in Region 5. This new province, is but the old Quhistan which was included into greater Khorasan in the Iranian administrative planning. Ferdows County ( fa, شهرستان فردوس) is located in South Khorasan province, Iran. The capital of the county is Ferdows. At the 2006 census, the county's population (including those portions of the county later split off to form Boshruyeh County) was 61,346, in 17,539 households. Retrieved 6 November 2022 The following census in 2011 counted 41,626 people, in 12,440 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 45,523, in 14,302 households.
