The Pollyanna principle (also called Pollyannaism or positivity bias) is the tendency for people to remember pleasant items more accurately than unpleasant ones. Research indicates that at the subconscious level, the mind tends to focus on the optimistic; while at the conscious level, it tends to focus on the negative. Pollyanna was an indie rock band that formed in Sydney, Australia in early 1992. They released four studio albums: ''Long Player'' (1996), ''Hello Halo'' (1997), ''Delta City Skies'' (1999) and ''Didn't Feel a Thing'' (2001). Northstar is an American band formed in 1997 in Huntsville, Alabama. History Early years and debut album (1997–2003) Since the band's inception, they have had around five guitarists and three different bassists, have been a three-piece, four-piece, and a five-piece. Due to a lack of a dedicated music scene in the Huntsville area, the band decided to start touring the country in 2000. They booked their first tour, bought a van, and set out on the road. After two years of booking, promoting, and producing everything themselves, the band signed a deal with Triple Crown Records of New York City in June 2002.
