Polly Stockton
Polly Stockton (born 23 October 1973) is a British event rider. Stockton is a member of the British World Class Performance squad. She attended Adcote School in Shropshire. Stockton has had a successful career as a young rider; she won the team gold at the 1994 European Young Rider Championships and was the British National Champion in 1999. At Senior level she won at Blenheim and Windsor in 1998. She was selected to take part in the British team at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez in 2002. Stockton also finished second in Burghley in 2002, 2007 and 2009. Stockton finished fourth in the 2009 British Open Championship. In September 2009, Stockton finished second at the Burghley Horse Trials. Riding Westwood Poser, she rode clear rounds in both cross-country and show jumping phases, moving up from 16th place after the dressage phase. Badminton Horse Trials
The Badminton Horse Trials is a eventing, five-day event, one of only six annual Concours Complet International, Concours Complet International (CCI) Five Star events as classified by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). It takes place in April or May each year in the park of Badminton House, the seat of the Duke of Beaufort in South Gloucestershire, England. History Badminton was first held in 1949 by the Henry Somerset, 10th Duke of Beaufort, 10th Duke of Beaufort in order to let British riders train for international events, and was advertised as "the most important horse event in Britain". World Equestrian Games
The FEI World Equestrian Games are the major international championships for equestrianism, and are administered by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). The games have been held every four years, halfway between sets of consecutive Summer Olympic Games, since 1990. Prior to that year, all ten of the FEI's individual disciplines held separate championships, usually in separate countries. The modern WEG runs over two weeks and, like the Olympics, the location rotates to different parts of the world. Riders and horses competing at WEG go through a rigorous selection process, and each participating country sends teams that have distinguished themselves through competition as the nation's best in each respective discipline. Burghley Horse Trials
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is an annual three-day event held at Burghley House near Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, currently in early September. Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is classified by the FEI as one of the six leading three-day events in the world (the others being the Badminton Horse Trials, the Kentucky Three-Day Event, the Australian International Three Day Event, the Luhmühlen Horse Trials and the Étoiles de Pau). It has competition at CCI5*-L (five star) level. The prize for first place is currently £95,000. Prize money is given down to 20th place. Dressage ( or ; a French term, most commonly translated to mean "training") is a form of horse riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an art sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery. Christopher Stockton (born 5 April 1969) is a British auto racing driver, who is known for his efforts in the British Touring Car Championship, and British and International GT racing Racing career Early years Born in Chester, Stockton won 14 Formula Ford races including the Kent Festival at Brands Hatch over three seasons between 1999 and 2001. He then won 5 races in a full seasons racing in the Legends series, breaking several lap records. In 2003/4 Stockton raced a TVR Tuscan in the National TVR Tuscan Challenge.
