Northern Cyprus ( tr, Kuzey Kıbrıs), officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC; tr, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti, ''KKTC''), is a ''de facto'' state that comprises the northeastern portion of the Geography of Cyprus, island of Cyprus. Rebirth Party (Northern Cyprus)
The Rebirth Party ( tr, Yeniden Doğuş Partisi, YDP) is a political party in Northern Cyprus. It was founded on 7 October 2016. Its leader is Erhan Arıklı, a professor, and its Secretary General is Turan Büyükyılmaz. Arıklı has stated that the ideological basis of the party is "allegiance to the motherland, Turkey" and "to ensure the survival of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus". However, the party strongly rejects the classification of Northern Cyprus as the "daughter country" of Turkey and states that it advocates an equal relationship between Turkey and Northern Cyprus as independent states. The party represents the continuation of the New Dawn Party ( tr, Yeni Doğuş Partisi), a historical political party that represented the interest of the Turkish settlers in Northern Cyprus. Freedom And Peace Party (Northern Cyprus)
Richard Claxton Gregory (October 12, 1932 – August 19, 2017) was an American comedian, civil rights leader, business owner and entrepreneur, and vegetarian activist. His writings were best sellers. Gregory became popular among the African-American communities in the southern United States with his "no-holds-barred" sets, poking fun at the bigotry and racism in the United States. In 1961 he became a staple in the comedy clubs, appeared on television, and released comedy record albums. Gregory was at the forefront of political activism in the 1960s, when he protested the Vietnam War and racial injustice. He was arrested multiple times and went on many hunger strikes. He later became a speaker and author, primarily promoting spirituality. Gregory died of heart failure, aged 84, at a Washington, D.C., hospital in August 2017. The United Cyprus Party (Turkish language, Turkish: ''Birleşik Kıbrıs Partisi'', BKP) is a Left-wing politics, left-wing, Socialism, socialist party in Northern Cyprus. Nationalist Democracy Party ( tr, Milliyetçi Demokrasi Partisi, MDP) was a former political party in Turkey. Background About one year after the coup of 1980, all political parties were closed by the military regime, or the so-called National Security Council or ( tr, MGK) regardless of their political views, on 16 October 1981.
