Policewoman (film)
''La poliziotta'' (internationally released as ''Policewoman'') is a 1974 Italian comedy film directed by Steno. For this film Mariangela Melato was awarded with a David di Donatello for Best Actress. Plot In Milan, the young policewoman Gianna discovers an ecological scandal involving an honorable local deputy, and has to face the hypocrisy and the corruption which plague the police and the society of the time. Steno (director)
Steno, the artistic name of Stefano Vanzina (19 January 1917 – 13 March 1988), was an Italian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Two of his films, ''Un giorno in pretura'' (1954) and ''Febbre da cavallo'' (1976), were shown in a retrospective section on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Alberto Lionello (12 July 1930 – 14 July 1994) was an Italian film actor, voice actor, singer and presenter. Life and career Born in Milan into a family of Venetian origins, after studying acting at the Accademia dei Filodrammatici Lionello started his career in 1949, in the stage company of Antonio Gandusio. Commedia all'italiana (, pl. Commedie all'italiana, "Comedy in the Italian way") or Italian-style comedy is an Italian film genre born in Italy in the 1950s and developed in the 1960s and 1970s. Alvaro Vitali (; born 3 February 1950) is an Italian actor. He was an electrician until he was discovered by Federico Fellini and played a small part in ''Satyricon'' (1969), it led to other roles, notably in the movie '' Amarcord'' (1973). Umberto Smaila
Umberto Smaila (born 26 June 1950) is an Italian actor, composer, comedian, television personality, entrepreneur, and musician. Born in Verona to an Istrian family, in the early-1970s Smaila co-founded together with Jerry Calà, Franco Oppini and Ninì Salerno a cabaret-ensemble, "I gatti di Vicolo Miracoli". The group, reduced to three components since 1982 following Calà's departure, appeared on several successful TV programs and films and released several songs, including the hit singles "Verona Beat" and "Singer Solitude". After the disbandment of the group Smaila was the television presenter of a number of quiz and variety shows, most notably the late night show . In the 1990s, he founded the "U.S. Band", an orchestra with whom he performed in several television programs.
