Police Training Centre, Khulna
Police Training Centre, Khulna is a police training school of Bangladesh Police. It is situated beside of Dhaka-Jessore-Khulna Highway. History This institution was formed in 1972 as a ''Zonal Police Training School(ZPTS)'' at Khalishpur Municipal Market. In 1980, it was shifted to the Jessore Police Lines. On 18 September 1989 this institution was upgraded as Police Training Centre & finally shifted to the present location in Khulna city. Facilities Police Training Centre Khulna has two-storeyed administrative building, a five storeyed TRC barrack, a multipurpose hall, a mosque, two-storeyed Commandants quarter, Deputy Commamdants quarter, a six-storeyed SI/ASI quarters, a six-storeyed Constables quarter and three tin-shade barracks. The N7 is a Bangladeshi national highway connecting the Daulatdia Ferry Terminal, on the south bank of the Padma River near the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, with the Port of Mongla in Bagerhat District. It serves some of the largest cities and towns in southwestern Bangladesh, including Faridpur, Magura, Jhenaidah, Jessore, and Khulna. Police Training Centre
Police Training Centres (PTC) in Bangladesh were initially established in 1972 as Zonal Police Training Schools (ZPTS) to impart training mainly to Trainee Recruit Constables (TRC) of Bangladesh Police. With the course of time for meeting up the need of recruiting and training huge constables and different level officers as well as staffs, those schools were not found sufficiently equipped. So it became the demand of the time to upgrade those training institutes. On this backdrop, the facilities and capacities of those schools were further developed in 1992. They were upgraded as Police Training Centers. Those training centers are training a lot more like- Armed Police Battalion, Staffs, the Security Personnel of Forest Division, Boatmen, Gardeners, Laskars, Head Constables etc. in addition to impart training to only fresh recruit constables. Shiromoni
The Battle of Shiromoni (Bengali: শিরোমণির যুদ্ধ) (13–17 December 1971) was fought during the Bangladesh Liberation War and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 between the Pakistan Army and the joint forces of the Bangladesh and Indian Army. This was one of the last battles of the Bangladesh Liberation War which continued till 17 December 1971, even though the commander of all Pakistani Forces in Bangladesh had already surrendered on 16 December 1971.
