Police Bureau Of Investigation
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) is a specialized unit of the Bangladesh Police that performs a criminal investigation and digital forensic service by the order of honorable court, police headquarters and the request of other police units. They investigate homicides, crime against property (dacoity, robbery, theft and fraud case etc.), sexual assaults, arson, cyber crime, and other crimes. Additional Inspector General Banaj Kumar Majumder BPM(Bar), PPM is the chief of the PBI. Organization The PBI is headed by an Additional Inspector General (Addl. IGP) and functionally his office contains most administrative units. Banaj Kumar Majumder ( bn, বনজ কুমার মজুমদার, born 1 January 1967) is a Bangladeshi police officer. He is currently Additional IGP of Bangladesh Police and Chief of the Police Bureau of Investigation. Prior to join PBI, he was Additional Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police in the rank of Additional DIG. He came into limelight when he was SP of Cox's Bazar District. Mahbubur Rahman (police Officer)
Barrister Mahbubur Rahman is a retired Bangladeshi police officer and the former chief of the Criminal Investigation Department. Early life and education Rahman completed his graduate studies from the University of Dhaka in 1985. In 2009, Rahman completed his Law degree from a university in the United Kingdom and joined Lincoln's Inn. Murder Of Nusrat Jahan Rafi
Murder of Nusrat Jahan Rafi refers to the murder of a 19–year-old Bangladeshi female student who was murdered after reporting her sexual assault by her Madrasa principal to authorities. She was from Feni, Bangladesh. She suffered burns covering over 80% of her body. She died 4 days after her assault on 10 April 2019 at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital's burn unit. She recorded a statement identifying some of her attackers while in transit to the hospital. History The principal of Nusrat Rafi's Madrasa, Siraj Ud Doula had given the order to murder her. Shahriar Chowdhury Emon (19 September 1971 – 6 September 1996) known by his stage name Salman Shah was a Bangladeshi film and television actor. He started his career with the first episode of the television serial ''Pathor Shomoy''. He got breakthrough for his role in the film ''Keyamat Theke Keyamat''. His death in 1996 was ruled as a suicide, a claim that is disputed by his family. Santals
The Santal or Santhal are an Austroasiatic speaking Munda ethnic group in South Asia. Santals are the largest tribe in the Jharkhand and West Bengal state of India in terms of population and are also found in the states of Odisha, Bihar and Assam. 2017 Dhaka RAB Camp Suicide Bombing
The 2017 Dhaka RAB Camp suicide bombing was an attempted suicide attack in the under construction compound of the elite Rapid Action Battalion in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 17 March 2017. The suicide attempt failed to cause any mass casualties, injuries or deaths. Only the lone suicide bomber died. Background The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant had called for suicide attacks in Bangladesh on 15 March 2017. Suicide attacks are rare in Bangladesh.
