Polar Boy
Polar Boy is a fictional character from the 30th century of the DC Universe, initially suggested by reader Buddy Lavigne of Northbrook, Illinois in the letters page of '' Adventure Comics'' #304, from January 1963. He was the first of several characters in this era who were created based on reader suggestions. Fictional character biography Brek Bannin grew up on the planet Tharr which is considered one of the hottest inhabited planets in the galaxy. Bannin's family lives in the hottest valley of the planet where the inhabitants developed the power to create super cold, snow and ice as a way to combat the persistent heat. He first tried out for the Legion in ''Adventure Comics'' #306 but was unable to control his powers. He was rejected because members felt his powers might interfere in missions. Bannin then started the Legion of Substitute Heroes with other rejected applicants, and was their first leader. He was the youngest person to ever try out for the Legion. He and the Subs ... Justice League
The Justice League (also known as The Justice League of America) are a team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #28 (March 1960). The team was conceived by writer Gardner Fox as a revival of the Justice Society of America, a similar team from DC Comics from the 1940s which had been pulled out of print due to a decline in sales. The Justice League is an all-star ensemble cast of established superhero characters from DC Comics' portfolio. Diegetically, these superheroes usually operate independently but occasionally assemble as a team to tackle especially formidable villains. This in contrast to certain other superhero teams such as the X-Men, whose characters were created specifically to be part of the team, with the team being central to their identity. Legion Of Super Heroes (TV Series)
''Legion of Super Heroes'' is an American animated television series produced by Warner Bros. Animation, adapted from the DC Comics series of the same name. It debuted on September 23, 2006, and centers on a young Superman's adventures in the 31st century, fighting alongside the eponymous group of superheroes. The show was produced by one of its main character designers James Tucker, a co-producer of the ''Justice League Unlimited'' series, for the Kids' WB line on The CW network. The series drew on the rich history of the Legion of Super-Heroes, taking inspiration from stories set during all time periods of the team's nearly 50-year history in comics. Continuity is internally consistent but is not shared with any previous incarnation of the Legion, either animated or in print. Sun Boy is a fictional superhero in the 30th and 31st centuries of the DC Comics DC Universe, universe. Sun Boy (real name Dirk Morgna of the planet Earth) is a Legion of Super-Heroes member with the ability to unleash internal solar energy to whatever degree he wishes, from enough to light a single candle to enough to melt nearly any obstacle. Sun Boy first appeared in 1961 during the Silver Age of Comic Books. Publication history Sun Boy first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #276 (as a cameo in a Supergirl story) and was created by Jerry Siegel and Jim Mooney. His first full appearance (albeit as an impostor) is in ''Adventure Comics'' #290. Conner Kent
Superboy (also known as Kon-El or Conner Kent) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. A modern variation on Superboy (Kal-El), the original Superboy, the character first appeared as Superboy in ''The Adventures of Superman (comic book), The Adventures of Superman'' #500 (June 1993), and was created by writer Karl Kesel and artist Tom Grummett. From the character's debut in 1993 to August 2003, Superboy was depicted as a genetically-engineered metahuman human cloning, clone of human origin designed by Project Cadmus as a duplicate and closest genetic equivalent of Superman. The character was retroactive continuity, retconned in ''Teen Titans (comic series), Teen Titans'' (vol. 3) #1 (September 2003) as a human/Kryptonian binary clone made from the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor.
