The point of no return (PNR or PONR) is the point beyond which one must continue on one's current course of action because turning back is dangerous, physically impossible or difficult, or prohibitively expensive. The point of no return can be a calculated point during a continuous action (such as in aviation). A particular irreversible action (such as setting off an explosion or signing a contract) can be a point of no return. Origins and spread of the expression The phrase "point of no return" originated as a technical term in air navigation to refer to the time and/or location during a flight at which the aircraft no longer has enough fuel to return to its originating airfield. Important decisions may need to be made prior to the point of no return, since it will be unsafe to turn around and fly back if the pilot changes their mind after that point. "Point of No Return" is a song by German Eurodance group Centory, released by EMI Records in August 1994 as the lead single from the group's only album, ''Alpha Centory'' (1994). It features Durron Maurice Butler, known as Turbo B from Snap!, who also co-wrote the lyrics. Alex Trime and Sven "Delgado" Jordan produced the track. Chart performance "Point of No Return" was a sizeable hit in Europe, becoming a top 10 hit in both Finland (10) and Italy (9). Additionally, it peaked at number 16 in Germany, number 18 in Austria and number 19 in France. In the United Kingdom, the single reached number 67 in its first week at the UK Singles Chart, on December 11, 1994. The fifth season of ''Supernatural'', an American dark fantasy television series created by Eric Kripke, premiered September 10, 2009, and concluded on May 13, 2010, on The CW.
